Villains
1.) Richard Hatch (in a perfect world, he'd be available. No one else like him and there never will be )
2.) Brian Heidik (pay him whatever he wants to get him to show up, having him and Hatch on the same season would be epic)
3.) Coach Wade (I hated him, but at least he played the game hard and was a big character)
4.) Randy Bailey (A strong understanding of the game, as long as he doesnt self destruct. No Crystal and G.C. this time)
5.) Russell Hantz (having him here is the only way to justify the ridiculous edit he has gotten in samoa)
6.) Jerri Manthey (survivors most recognizable villain)
7.) Courtney Yates (she's a bitch like Jerri and Corrinne, but in a different fashion which is entertaining)
8.) Corrinne Kaplan (even though I think she played up her bitchiness to the camera, there arent that many standout female villans)
9.) Laura Morrit (they spent a lot of time in samoa painting her as a bitch, and she'll at least be fresh in peoples memories)
10.) Twila Tanner (Dont know if she's truly a villain, but I think most of us would like to see her play again)

alternate males: Judd Sergeant, Shane Powers, Jean-Robert Bellande (not the greatest players, but widely recognizable villains)
alternate females: Sue Hawk, Sugar Kiper, Sierra Reed (theyd be the only suitable alternates, although I'd rather not see them again)

Heroes
1.) Tom Westman (Despite dominating the game in a boring fashion, he definitely earned a lot of respect and praise the first time around)
2.) J.T. Thomas (Another guy who dominated the game. Hard to find a lot of faults with him the first time he played)
3.) Todd Herzog (Could be on the villains tribe, but a good strategist and easy to like (when he doesnt have ridiculous hair/clothes))
4.) Terry Dietz (dominant alpha-male like Tom, but without the million bucks to show for it)
5.) Bob Crowley (Not overly impressive strategically, but it's hard to root against him. Very clever and entertaining)
6.) Cirie Fields (Very intelligent and impressive despite not looking like much. Easy to root for)
7.) Sandra Diaz-Twine (Who wasnt entertained by Sandra in P.I.? Good player, Better character)
8.) Peih-Gee Law (An underdog who earned herself a lot of respect by the time she was voted out in China)
9.) Tracey Hughes-Wolf (Not real popular, but she proved she had game and seemed to be the best "fan" in Micronesia strategically)
10.) Helen Glover (I'd be really curious to see how she'd play the game the second time through after Brian raped her in Thailand)

alternante males: Ken Hoang, Dave Ball, Erik Reichenbach (any of these three guys are goofy enough to at least provide comic relief. All three are unique and easy to root for if they dont do anything completely stupid......and thats a big if.)
alternate females: Natalie White, Sally Schumann, Danni Boatwright (Three under the radar females, but all three have strategic game and can compete physically. They'd add some eye candy to the heroes tribe too)


Main reasons I'd go with the 20 castaways listed is because they all generated some sort of reaction from fans (either liking them, disliking them, or were neutral but entertaining on some level.) The alternates are all capable players either physically or strategically, but either killed their own games with boneheaded moves or played good games but were somewhat under the radar. Aside from possibly Shane, I dont think the hardcore fans are really tired of seeing/hearing any of them too, which is a big plus.

I left a lot of big names off the list (Rupert, Rob M, Rob C, Parvati, James, Colby, Stephenie, Amanda, Ozzy, etc) off the list. My reasoning for that is I think we've pretty much seen all they have to offer both in playing the game and as characters on the show. The 20 people above, plus the alternates, all could come back into the game and play a completely different game than the first (or in some cases first and second) time around. If you put Rob M, or Rupert or James, or Amanda, etc., etc. in, theyre going to play the same game every time and be the same character every time. Part of what makes Survivor fun to watch (in my opinion) is the character development. It is overkill to have Rob M come in for a third season and try to be an alpha-male douche, or to have Ozzy come back and be an ego-maniacal challenge whore or to have Amanda come back and cry her way to another loss.

You might actually see some adapting and inventive strategy if you dont bring back the one-note players. Unfortunately, it looks like a lot of them are back and it'll make them focus on challenges, immunity idols, and orchestrating blindsides instead of the castaways themselves and their personal journeys through the game. The show becomes more hollow that way. Even if you didnt like them, watching Cirie, Stephen, Matt, Peih Gee, etc. go from out-of-their-league misfits to serious game players is interesting television.
