Yeah, if Kelly hadn't fallen, I think she could have taken this too. Those kick ass freestyles do get people to the phones, even if they may not have voted all season. Also, ho-hum freestyles, or big mistakes, such as Kelly's fall, are the last thing voters see. There have been more duds than gems in the freestyle...so the exciting ones or the ones with good "beats" do shine.

Kym did everything right designing that freestyle, a little fun in the beginning while still dancing, good pacing, worked to her partner's strengths, pushed him into doing a couple of nice lifts, pretended to end it and then continues with the best stuff almost as an after thought--pro work there.

Julianne, love her or hate her, does that kind of thing too...she talked about it once in an interview. A little gimmick getting the celebs on their feet and moving, some basics, a wow--dance the basics of the dance well--another wow--shine in some harder part of the dance style--big wow finishes.

It works.

I wanted Mark to win, or Kelly, or Donny. Mya's ringer status and off-putting attitude early on bugged me.
