Jedward mania predicted as X Factor stars John and Edward come to Scotland

JEDWARD will jet into Scotland on a private plane this weekend for a special gig.

The controversial Irish duo have sent social networking sites into meltdown as fans have flocked to sign up as supporters of Glasgow venue Campus in a bid to get their hands on guest-list places.

The club has become the official home of The X Factor in Glasgow and each Sunday welcomes the act voted off the TV show seven days earlier.

And the boys' management company have fixed up a private plane to fly them to Scotland.

A source said: "The boys want to make sure they get to see lots of their fans and don't want to let anyone down, so they were delighted when they got offered the use of a private jet.

"It means they will get to live like superstar singers. They'll be like Simon Cowell, climbing aboard their own jet - at least for the weekend anyway."

Campus marketing and entertainment manager Cameron Craig says he's never seen anything like the ticket frenzy the boys' appearance has sparked - and reckons he could easily have filled the SECC.

Cameron said: "I've worked with a lot of big stars but none of them have come anywhere close to this.

"In terms of The X Factor, we've had JLS four times and we thought they were big. It was like Beatlemania with those boys - really insane, scarily so. But that is completely overshadowed by John and Edward. This is a whole new level - it has gone up several gears.

"The interest in them is way beyond anything we've ever booked before. This is superstar stuff. We've been really taken aback at the scale and intensity of the response."

Cameron tried to arrange a family show during the day so the boys' younger fans could see them, but Jedward have been lined up to appear in London on Channel 4's T4 on Sunday afternoon.

He said: "A lot of Jedward fans are young kids so we tried to put on an early afternoon show for all ages at Campus.

"Unfortunately the guys are filming for T4 at Earl's Court so we can't get them until about 7pm. By the time they get to the hotel and sort themselves out, it will be way too late."

However, the twins will play two shows in Scotland - one in Falkirk and one in Glasgow.

Cameron added: "There is no way we could just do the Campus show, so we're putting them on early at City in Falkirk. They will go on stage there at around 11pm.

"They will headline Campus at around 12.30am. We're doing a big X Factor night and screening the elimination show so the atmosphere will be electric. I can't begin to imagine what the reaction will be like when they walk in.

"We could have put this in the SECC and filled it. I only wish Campus was bigger."

Cameron reckons last Sunday's Campus guest, and fellow X Factor evictee Jamie Archer, is set to enjoy a successful career and is tipping Olly to win. He also reckons John and Edward have restored the magic to The X Factor.

He said: "It's comedy, really, isn't it? They've brought that fun factor back into it, they're hilarious. When they did Ghostbusters, I couldn't believe it. Everyone else is decked out in designer gear and they are jumping about in Ghostbusters overalls.

"Without them, it would be a bit boring as everyone would be the same - they add something different.

"Love them or hate them, you watched to see what they would be doing next. They will be missed.

"They are going to be absolute superstars - possibly even more than whoever ends up winning."

Jedward fans desperate to see the duo can get in to their Scottish gigs - but have been advised to get to the venues as early as possible.

Cameron said: "We're not doing advance tickets, as it's not fair. It's turn up and pay at the door - but fans might want to get there early. We're opening the doors at 7.45pm at Campus, and 7pm at City and it's only £10 to get in to either.

"This is going to be the type of gig people talk about for years. We've had thousands of people signing up to our networking sites to try to get on the guest list."
