Elliot Gould never disappoints and I wanted him to get away with it.

I like NY and the compass killer, but I expect that will get wrapped up tomorrow night. L&0 has been on it's game this season - but I wonder about Van Buren. For them to focus this much attention on one character usually only means one thing. I hope i"m wrong - I love S. Epatha Merkeson in this role. I remember when she had a guest appearance way back in the early days.

But who knows, maybe her replacement will rock. I didn't think I'd ever get over the loss of Lenny Briscoe. Orbach was such an amazing actor, and brilliant in that role. I missed him that first season, and I never took to Fontana. Why the fuck did they replace Lenny with another older gray haired detective? It was too soon...they should have replaced Lenny with a young guy. But I've liked pretty much everyone since. Well, except that chick that partnered with Green for a while. Fuck, she was annoying.

I'm hoping Lou looks at life in a new way because of her cancer, decides she doesn't need the grind that comes with her job and decides to pack it in. Or perhaps they'll leave it open about her prognosis and she leaves -- either to die off camera or because she will start to live off camera. I couldn't handle an on-camera death. I couldn't deal with it when Dr. Greene died on ER and I won't deal with it on L&O.
