Season two FELT kinda long because of the whole drama... but it was concise...er? They upped the number of contestants as the seasons progressed (most shows do... they start with ten when they are fledgeling shows, then get more budget and a better contract and up the ante); and the extra weight shows.

The contestants don't know what to expect, and the producers don't know if the show will work. In second plus seasons, I always feel like the contestants are somewhat modeling themselves on season one, and the producers THINK they now know the formula for the show. Don't they realize that part of the thrill of reality tv is its unpredictability?

I remember how pissed I was when Stephen was eliminated and then followed by LeeAnn, 2 that I thought would make the finale.

Out of all the cheftestants who said they gained a new perspective on themselves after watching thier season, I think Stephen and Tiffany are the only ones who actually have.

I ADORED Stephen in all his OCD/Anal Retentive glory. I did not find him at all unlikeable and his obsession with pairing his food with wine intrigued me (I LOVE going to tasting dinners) and he was the contestant in season 1 whose food interested me the most. My Stephen love grew tenfold when, at the reunion, after watching himself throughout the season, he actually recognized how uptight he was and how he rubbed people the wrong way at times and said that he learned from it and was making an effort to change a bit. Adding to that his sincere apology to Candace, made him even better. Stephen <3<3<3 I am not surprised he has been so successful as a restauranteur and I hope he finds time to make another appearance on TC in the future.
