I think it is a SMART move on the part of choreographers to do that, so long as it does not take away from the dance (as it did earlier in the season with Jakob taking off in the middle of Melanie's routine to do his thang... and Adam kinda spanked Melanie for it).

Drew Drew Drew. You bitch about this with K and L, but the dance you loved by Jakob is just as guilty. All of these people get routines shaped around their moves. It only becomes more apparent with Breakdancing, because it is not a move we usually see choreographed (though it is choreographed, much of the time). So how is it unfair when a contemporary dancer gets three or four routines that are built around their contempo signatures, Evan gets ALL of his dances built around his Jazz hands, while BBoys or Tappers NEVER get to work with their own style, exclusively. So are you saying that it WOULDN'T have bothered you if, in the middle of Peter's week one hip-hop or Phillip's week one jive or Bianca's week one contemporary, the choreographer had thrown in a tap interlude? Because that is the equivalent of what Sonya did with all the breakdancing. The problem is that it DOES take away from the dance if the dance isn't in that genre. The reason I loved Jakob this week was because his style finally melded perfectly with the style of dance he was given. I hated it when he tried to do hip hop and still utilized his superhuman extension and overly clean moves...

I actually disliked Leagacy in the Waltz, true... but PLEASE, Drew. Brandon's Waltz was equally bad. Not worse, perhaps, but certainly not better. He looked terrified the whole time, and was extremely restrained in his moves.

I actually disagree with you that Brandon was as bad as Legacy - at least what Brandon did was recognizable as waltzing. However, even if you are correct and they are equally bad, Legacy has been at this for five weeks and is considered one of the top performers. Brandon was at it for a day and a half and he was a replacement considered not even good enough for the top twenty. There is no excuse for why Legacy should be anywhere NEAR as bad as Brandon was. If Legacy is the talent he's purported to be, he should by all rights have been much, much, MUCH better.
