Ok, I have to admit that Matt completing the Iron Man brought t.ears in my eyes. That bike ride on Kona is notorious for destroying the competitors. I remember
watching tv coverage of the very early Iron Man race and the lean and fit were physically disintegrating. And he muscled through it.
It was great to see some of the people. The New York Times had an article on BL today--about how the contestants go to extremes and how quickly they were all threatened by NBC once they knew there was a reporter contacting former contestants. The article said only 50% keep the weight off and that 50% all rebounded to some extent after the end of the show when they stopped taking extreme measures.
