I'm shopping for a new TV, too (40-ish size), and the BF prices I've seen are good, but not great -- basically they're the same prices you can get periodically when the TVs go on sale at other times of the year. It looks like they're clearing out a lot of older models, too. Make sure you get one with 1080p resolution (there's still a lot of 720s out there). The best TV brands are debatable, but I think most anything from Samsung, LG, Sharp or Sony are pretty safe. The newer technology is LED (vs LCD) screens. They're significantly more expensive right now, but probably worth the investment. Some of the best prices/selection I've found are(surprisingly) at Dell.com.
