And as someone pointed out a few pages back, this performance would've been rehearsed several times, so what he did was not a surprise to the producers of the show - that be why they aired it so late and not an entertainment segment earlier in the show.
I'm shocked by what offends/shocks people - with everything going on in the world, network/cable TV and on Daytime Soap Operas, THIS is what people find offensive to their sensibilities???
It didn't surprise me at all...nor did it offend me.
I am a female living in a middle class white bread medical community. I don't watch American Idol and I barely know who Adam Lambart is...
It was on late enough and also...the AMAs aren't exactly family programming. If I had kids I wouldn't let them stay up that late and they wouldn't be watching the AMAs if they were. There are better things for them to be watching.
Any afternoon of the week you can see soft-core porn on ABC.
Any week night on any of the regular channels you can, too...things can get pretty sexual on Dancing with the Stars or SYTYCD. At times I'd say more so.
Gossip Girl comes on at 7pm here and no one seemed to have a problem with them simulating group sex.
I do think there is a huge double standard because it involved a gay man. A gay man who wears make-up. The horror!
