I'm not reading the whole thread to see if its been mentioned, but it seemed like the whole conversation was chopped to me.
You never had Laura responding to Shambo on screen. They always cut from one to the other. I don't even care for Laura, but I think it was a load of B.S. in editing. |

Maybe Shambitch should have asked Laura whether she had lost anyone in the past 40+ YEARS. I guess that's pretty unlikely though. Having
someone close to you die over a 40 YEAR timespan is really rare and requires extensive comforting.

Laura is my favorite non-Kim Mullen and non-Jeff Wilson castaway of all time. This scene exemplified this. She was being nice and kind to Shambo, she was
rubbing her and being as nice as their past relationship would allow. Let's not forget that Shambo essentially created the entire rivalry between her &
Laura, because Laura has said in post-game interviews that they tried to include Shambo but Shambo never made the effort. Laura even said that herself &
Russell S. were about the same age as Shambo and they were still powerful, important figures in their tribe and Shambo could have been the same way if she
didn't ostracize herself.
I'm a huge, huge Laura fan and I'm not disagreeing that her wording choices might have been inappropriate, but she meant well. Shambo should have appreciated what Laura did show to her and at least that she was making an effort. Shambo is a human and she does have a heart and feelings, but she used those feelings to ostracize herself from the group and create an intense hatred of Laura, so what does she really expect? And Laura was saying, "They're better off" referring to heaven. She would have said that to anyone. |

Shambo just has deep rooted issues that stem from her childhood and those issues are expressed in extreme jealousy of Laura.
Sorry, but bawling your eyes out about losing an infant brother when you yourself are an infant 40+ years ago seems really off to me. Psycho alert

Only one person that has said any negative comments about Laura is Shambo. This should speak volume. Doesn't.

Anyone pre-merge except Yasmin never interacted with her beyond challenges. They don't count. Yasmin: was part of her clique. Of course she won't say anything bad. Post merge: Erik: talked badly about her Kelly: was her closest ally so she wouldn't Laura: ummm... Let's wait and see when some Foa Foa 4 get the boot or some more Galus other than Brett and Monica get the boot. |

This scene had the most awkward conversation ever on Survivor. I thought both women acted strangely. Shambo was sharing her deepest emotional feelings with a
woman whom she hated? That makes so much sense.

Trust me, I am no Laura fan. But, let's face it, the producers showed it in the recap just so that we would feel sorry for Shambo. I think Laura was a no
win situation.

I don't even think the editors showed Shambo in a positive light. She looked like a bumbling fool and a complete bitch. She's naturally sympathetic and
relatable to some because she's ugly and no one likes her, so she's an immediate underdog to Laura, but that's where it ends.

Shambo: "..cuz I didn't know." Laura: "C'mon, where's our sunshine?" Establishes what was most important to Laura at the time. Anyone defending Laura, no matter who you are pulling for, or how stupid or ugly Shambo might be... the rest of us feel sorry for you. |
