The Road will get nom'd. So will Viggo.
I hope Inglorious Basterds does. |

That guy who played the smooth yet very evil German henchman will likely nab supporting actor (and I think he'll win it too). *eta: for Inglorious
Basterds*
I can't wait to see 'The Road'. I thought the book was great. Very different writing style but still .... it was FABULOUS. Viggo for a 'nod' |

Supporting categories have been considered the most wide open... ie: lacking in actual contenders. WTF with "locked down?"

Nominees might be wide open but the acutal winners are considered to be basically locked down.

That's the opposite of what I've been reading. They feel even MoNique may have troubles because the movie is so dark.

I'm really skeptical about "The Road." It was supposed to come out last year, then earlier this year, then October, and now it finally comes out
in November. That's usually a sign that it's no good and they're desperately trying a few last minute edits it to make the film slightly better.
Maybe Viggo's performance will be good, but I'm guessing the movie is crap.
Besides, the book is all about the feelings of the two main characters. The dialogue is really sparse. I imagine that wouldn't translate easily to the screen. |

It can also mean they don't know how to market it. That is what happened with The Ice Storm, so many years ago... which I adored. If it is too dark and
off-putting in theme, they likely decided to slow build it, hoping word of mouth would give it awards chances.

Does no one love this woman enough to tell her to lay off the collagen? Blueberry, how can you not know who Winnie Mandela is? Did you not go to school?

The world of "The Road" is what I picture Earth like after Boomie gets another Oscar nomination.

Thats what I hate about the Oscars. They are totally "Flavor of the Week" when voting. Are drama students going to study J Hud as Effie White 20
years from now? No. But will they study Meryl in Sophie's Choice or Jack in As Good as It Gets.

Saw The Blindside. Bullock was excellent. She's a likely nominee with the reviews she has gotten, and the box office is staggeringly impressive.
