Watching the show every season doesn't automatically make you good at Survivor. You can pretty much be an over the top prick and still go far in the game so long as you are surrounded by morons. Apparently any large majority will now shoot itself in the foot so some underdog can win. Not saying I think Russell wins, but more and more it's looking like somebody from Foa Foa does.

Perfect season for Russell to be cast. I can't imagine him pulling this shit on, say, JT and Stephen, Todd/Amanda/Courtney, real players. Plus he gets to go into next season the total unknown, which, as Rupert, Amanda and James proved, is nothing but a blessing.

The fact that they had an 8-4 lead blows my frickin mind. HOW can they take an 8 in one chance at winning and blow it away?! And then CONTINUE to blow it away? Survivor is all about PLANNING on what "may" happen and exspecting the unexspected. Take chances- but don't take stupid chances if you can help it (such as just assuming someone doesn't have the idol and failing to split the vote.)

I also have to give it to Russell- he's not complaining about no food, being uncomfortable or wet. He just sucks it up and laughs. And his focus is ALWAYS where it should be - on the game. He uses every single thing he can to help him. When they did the "visiting" tribe member, he took the time to talk to them. He didn't wait around on clues for the idol- he went and got it using plan common sense, which all you need to find it.

I would think someone like Jasion, who has been through all this tough training and athletics, would fare better than someone like Russell hasn't left the couch in 10 years. And putting the money aside- who would you rather spend your time with out there? People who are kvetching all day or someone laughing? Sometimes that ALONE can get someone voted out!!

I have also seen Russell helping his fellow Foa-Foa members to stay focused. He has told them time after time- "these people don't give a fuck about you- it's all about the money." Which in the end is most people's mistake- they simply forget it's a game for a million and count on their new-found "friends" to take care of them and they get them through. When that fails to happen they are shocked.

Russell likely won't win- but I can say out of all of them he has put the most EFFORT into winning the game. That alone would give him my vote to win.

If he does indeed go home, I think he has more than earned the fan favorite vote.
