Ish and I traveled to Boston and Raleigh for the shoots. Jay Manley did the terrific instrumental music. It premiered at the October 17th 2009 "Champions' Gala" and I am happy to report that NIP and Clay Aiken raised over $450,000 for the foundation that night. Their goal: develop an advocacy campaign that builds awareness and support for the full social and educational inclusion of people with disabilities. The youth leaders, diverse in their backgrounds, experiences and abilities, are united in their vision of a world where people of all abilities have the same opportunities. The National Youth Inclusion Summit is organized by the Including Samuel Project, a program of University of New Hampshire's Institute on Disability, along with Imagination Stage, the Mitsubishi Electric America Foundation, and the National Inclusion Project. Partners in the effort include the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Kids Included Together, Girl Scouts of the USA, Victor Pineda Foundation and VSA arts. The Summit will take place January 8-10, 2010, at Imagination Stage in Bethesda, Maryland.

Clay is always good at reinventing himself that I would like to see him come up with a way to get back in the public's eye without doing a tour with Ruben. I'm thinking that if they go 2-3 thousand seat venues, that Clay's fans would make up about 90% of the sales. If that comes about, then I don't see the reasoning in having Ruben there. If and when Clay's CD drops, he should do a theatre tour where I believe his substantial fan base would be able to support him. Who knows though, maybe they would do it because they are buddys. But first and foremost you have to do it from a business standpoint. Would it be profitable? Anyway, just throwing that out there. He's a talented guy and I wish him luck with his upcoming CD and his career.

I think they'll do it because they are really good friends that will enjoy themselves. I want them to be on stage together through the whole concert taking turns doing solos and singing backup for each other and doing some duets together. Their voices blend so well. Clay's fans are very fond of Ruben. He has a beautiful voice and is a super nice guy. Now that Ruben's fans have mostly stopped bashing Clay its a lot easier to be a fan.

I agree with the first part of your post but the last part is rewriting history a bit. As a onetime huge fan of Clay I can say that the bashing went both ways with claymates giving as well as getting. Most of the claymates bashed Ruben over feeling that Clay rightfully won idol. I never did get why they held Ruben responsible. Ruben fans bashed in retaliation and, in part i think, in jealousy over Clay doing better v their idol when it came to sales. jmo. I personally feel a joint tour could work very well now that both are rebuilding a career and there is no real competition left.
