To me, the Natalie kills a rat scene was a parallel to the scene in Gabon where Bob goes to Exile for the 2nd time in a row, decides there's no idol to look for, and goes on a hike for two days: ("Now I know why they call it the Garden of Eden"). Bob's edit was all about "look at this old man having this amazing experience in Africa," like when his wife came and loved how he smelled like a campfire.

Natalie's edit is this big story of how Russel underestimates her. She's a dumber blonde than Ashley, she follows Russel, but now she's growing up and making game moves (erik) and killing rats and surviving.

To me, it's pretty apparent that they're setting us up for Natalie beating Russel in the end.
