Sigvold wrote: Before I talk about the show, this has to be a joke, right??? It was the original cancer dance routine but had even LESS dancing in it. Lacey is my second favorite contestant ever to appear on this show yet I hated this piece and thought it was one of the most sanctimonious pieces of crap ever put on the SYTYCD stage. Okay, now. Nathan must go home tonight. The judges totally dragged Kathryn down with him when she turned in two excellent performances. I love her to no end and picked up the phone for the first time since S3 to call in for her for over an hour. Love her. I do think that Nathan may go home, though, just because of the weak but not hate-filled comments directed toward him. I also love that he looked like an abused puppy every time the judges opened their mouths. Russell/Mollee seething indifference. Legacy/Ashleigh meh'ness, though I love Ashleigh to death. I'm actually undecided whether I want her or Ellenore in the F4 with Kathryn (dodges lightning from heaven). Legacy's dad... loved Cat telling him to sit down. Ryan/Noelle.... .... .... Jakob/Ellenore ought to dance together every week, though I'm hoping to see him complemented with Kathryn next week. If they get paired, she will finally get the credit she deserves. The Sonya piece was spectacular. Definitely one of my favorite routines ever on the show, and they were both PERFECT for it. I loved both of their solos, but the fact that Jakob's was last (and the only one out of order) wasa bit heavy-handed to me. Hoping for a Kathryn/Jakob/Ellenore/Ashleigh F4. Jakob is the only male I have positive feelings toward. I think that Ellenore is the only girl safe from B2 tomorrow. I think Nathan/Ryan are a lock for B2 males, with Nathan hopefully making a quick exit. I'll pray for a Mollee boot, but expect a Noelle one. |

I don't get the Ellenore love...I compare her to Kupono. Yes, she is quirky ....but I find her dancing heavy footed...a lot like Mollee. I am voting off
the chain for Kathryn!!! I really find her enchanting and I thought she made Nathan look ok tonight. Kathryn = as in light up the stage!!! Love her. I would
LOVE to see her dance with Jacob or Ryan. There were times tonight that it looked like Jakob was gonna drop Ellenore! I mean she probably should've lifted
him! OH...and am I the only one who didn't like Sonja's dance tonight?? meh

This is Jakob and Ellenore's show to lose. They are easily the best of the bunch and prove it each week.
Legacy and Ashleigh for F3/4. Everyone else? Go home, please - ESPECIALLY Nathan and Ryan. Ugh. |

It's Jakob's to lose, but I don't think that Ellenore will connect with the voters as much. This week will help push her into the F6 if she has a
decent week next time, but recall that last week with "fan favorite" Ryan and two solid routines she still hit B3 over Russell/Noelle with arguably
worse routines.
Especially with Kathryn and Ashleigh's steady track record with the voters (damn, even Noelle, come to think of it), I wouldn't be surprised to see both outlast Ellenore. |

Was surprised most by the great Broadway routine that Nathan and Kathryn did. They nailed it, unlike when Kathryn did it the similar style with Legacy.
And didn't get the great quickstep, other than it seemed to have a ton of intricate stuff that other pairs haven't had to do. And I LOVED the Ellenore/Jakob Sonya routine. It had such great moment. When they were undulating acrosss the stage, I said to my husband, no one else could do that. They were hitting their stride in that routine. I hope that this finally brings Ellenore up and noticed by the public. And was also surprised by the hip/hop and waltz done by Ryan and Noelle. Can't say I hate any of the top 10 now, they have all had some good moments. Nathan, Legacy and Russell at risk. Ashleigh, Mollee and Kathryn the Femme bottom 3. |

From first half: Ryan and Noelle (NappyTabs): I thought Noelle got into the character of the dance better than Ryan. Choreo was good, but I still refuse to call this hip hop. Legacy and Ashleigh (contempo): dancing was meh, choreography was straight outta the '70s and '80s (la la la human steps and cirque du soleil - NTTAWWT). Of course, if I think that, the judges would praise the bejeesus out of it. Nathan and Kathryn (Broadway): Nathan did better than I thought he would. This is one of the few kinds of musical/Broadway/theatre styles I want to see - a Gene Kelly/Cyd Charisse, '50s or '60s kinda routine without over-the-top acting like S4's routine for Courtney and Gev. [/Trump] Tyce, you're fired! [/Trump] From second half: Jakob and Ellenore (contempo): as expected. I want to see a Sonya, Ellenore, Gessuri (KKKanada S2) threesome. Russell and Mollee (jive): I thought this was Russell's best dance in the ballroom/latin category. He's a strong guy to throw Mollee around like that. His flicks were better than Mollee's, but I enjoyed her, too. This show needs more Anya and Pasha. A side note: Adam said that it was due to a RANDOM PICK OUT OF THE HAT that husband and wife Ryan and Ashleigh swapped partners. Heh. |

How freaking amazing was that last Jakob/El Leno routine? The dancers must love it when they get Sonya as their choreographer. She is far and away the best
of the competition. And it seems she is one of only a few choreos that actually match their routine to the appropriate music.
And Noelle has upped her game. She looked really good in the opening number, and reminded me of Kathryn in the second. And Kathryn looked fucking amazing, as usual. She really is a threat to win the whole shebang, despite being paired with Nathan who apparently can't partner for shit. And what is the deal with his facial expressions? His solo was good, but otherwise he's in over his head. He needs to be sent home. I dunno what the jidges saw in the first Ashleigh/LeggyC act, because all I saw were tricks with lame transitions, lack of synchronization, and just general crappiness. I wouldn't have called it dancing so much as sophomore gymnastics. Their second dance was mostly uninspired choreography with a stupid prop. Nathan should be gone. I'm thinking Ashleigh is probably gone as well.

Jakob won't win IMO. He's way too "gae" too have the fangirls on his side IMO. I could be wrong but it always seems that every year the
"technician" doesn't win. Blake, Allison, Travis, Danny, Will, Katee, Kayla, Brandon, etc. the list goes on and on.
This season is so fucking boring I was barely able to focus tonight. Sad cuz for once I bought into the whole "BEST SEASON EVA!!1" and it's even worse than the last two seasons. |

I'm agreed though- major Kathryn love. She has to get her due praise at some point this season. I was really happy with the dances tonight. Jakob/Ellenore, the smooth waltz, the Kathryn/Nathan broadway dance, even NappyTabs-- I liked at least half of the performances. Ryan and Noelle will go, though I'd prefer it to be Nathan/Mollee. |

Just saw the Ellenore/Jakob hyped routine and seriously that wasn't all that amazing. Could they shove Ellenore (and Jakob) down our throats more? God that
was worse than when the public rejected Kayla and Will every week and then the next week they'd force feed them down our throats even more. Get over it,
she's not connecting with viewers. That routine might save her this week but she'll be gone the next.
Ashleigh is seriously possibly the best ballroom soloist since like Heidi. That was so good for a solo in her genre. |

I am going to be unpopular for a moment. Even though he was a bit much, I got Nathan tonight. Mollee dances like a cow in heat, and HE was always the one Unca
Creepy went after. They take young kid and put him on the show without much fight, probably before his time, and then peck him down piece by piece. It's
really kind of sadistic. Adam was really right on. In his way, he was admitting that Nathan had gotten reviews that were far too harsh. Every week, he was the
one Nigel had to preach to. Build em up, then tear him down. I felt horrible for him. His spirit was broken and though he will probably be a better dancer
coming out of it, I feel for him. Great or horrible, he is the one who has taken the most lumps by far this season, and mostly it seemed way too harsh, even
when I agreed he was not great.
That said, he deserves to be on the bottom. I don't think he needs to be out. His first dance was just good enough for me. Ryan, on the other hand, was good both times, but really just struck me as a hried hand, a stunt double. He shows no great charisma nor precision EVER (which Nathan DOES show in his solos). Russeell, too, could go for me. Charisma he has, in spades; but his smile and cockiness mask a lack in technique (that he HAS trained for... I am sorry but he definotely has outside training). On the positive side: THANK GOD for Ellenore. She woke Jakob the fuck up, and he FINALLY showed some real personality and joy in his dance. He was actually better than her tonight; but I give her the credit. I want her to win. As for her dancing being heavy? It IS, in parts, and then she does a smooth silky roll or a perfect jump. The best dancers mix the light and the heavy; and she knows how to do just that (where Mollee just IS lead-footed). Legacy and Ashleigh.... the first dance was one of the best of the night, actually. Amazing technique and a jaw-dropping finale. The second was not god awful, but indeed was the worst of a very good night. Most of the blame was to be given to choreography and costume. There were actual several times where the cape hid Legacy's isolations, even when they were quite good in the flashes we saw; and Ashleig's outifut made it impossible to like her. Dave Scott must want her gone and now. So here are my rankings right now: Ellenore Jakob Kathryn (lovely lovly lovely) Rusell (his solo moved him higher on the list, and not being bad bad in either routine) Mollee (hate her, but she had a pretty strong night) Legacy (solo and one dance amazing, hip hop not so great and dragged him down) Ashleigh (see above) Noelle (she is just really not memorable at all Nathan Ryan |

swim4life227 wrote:Tonight, Jakob finally moved past technician. He did tonightwhat most of them (Danny, Kayla) cannot manage until the last two weeks: He had real charisma, conviction to character and joy in his dance; and he had star quality. On boards, he has a HUGE fan base, interestingly enough. I really hated him until last week. He started to move forward last week. This week, he took a leap. I shall give credit to Ellenore. Sorry, Swim, but that Jakellenore dance WAS amazing: It had varied speed, used the whole stage, had character and pizazz. It was not as moving as some, but was really a good showcase of the two dancers. |
