Just because FCS has the superior idea (i.e. a playoff) doesn't mean we have to pay attention to it!!!!

That's true... but, I'll counter with - it's some GOOD football, and well worth checking out!!

Fuck Richmond, Elon was sooooooo close

They missed TWO tying FG attempts in the last 90 seconds!! Man. My Elon friend was glad after the fact that she wasn't able to watch the game.

I think it started a couple of decades ago. :)

Actually the costs of maintaining a football program are huge and is one of the many deterents to moving up in classification. Facility improvements, stadium improvements, ets. Not to mention the low ticket sales (generally) and the lack of good TV revenue. Why? One reason is the talent level is greatly diminished. There's virtually a "no-contest" when a kid is recruited by FBS schools versus "high" FCS schools. Then there's the inability to generate any good income from alums, charity drives, or even other athletic events. The money just isn't there for the program.
