Want something new to worry about?

Didn't they close the deal already? Comcast owns 51% now....

In mergers like this, there's a lot of space between the deal being closed and the deal being approved.
DOJ & FTC will weigh in on antitrust concerns, and the FCC will weigh in on whether or not it's a good idea to allow a publicly broadcast network to get into the clutches of a private cable behemoth.

casttv.com had the latest episode up by Friday, two weeks ago. I'm just impatient. I want to see the show now!

I'm desperate to see this episode too. Searched forever and gave up. And I would get DirectTV but these apartment people lied to me when they told me that
my apartment was facing the right direction for satellite. It's not.

Take that back!
DirecTV, when fucked with properly, is awesome. FNL, NFL Sunday Ticket, ability to DVR shows uncompressed off of the air, etc. I love them. Comcast sucks here though, and is more 'spensive. E Love, if you have a clear view of the southern sky, you should be OK. Hold your arm up at a 45% angle but clench your fist so people don't think you're doing a Nazi salute, and use your knuckle as a gunsight -- if you can see open sky, you should be fine. Plus I understand DirecTV provides the programming for Verizon's FIOS. |

It actually is facing the right direction I think, but the angle of the balcony/patio is such that they can't place the dish in the right spot to get a
signal. Or some shit like that. I literally cried when they told me and I came to the realization that I was going to have to get Time Warner Cable.

Somethings wrong then. Unless a neighoring building or trees block the open sky, you ought to get the DirecTV guys out to your place and let them have a look
for themselves. They have these little sensor thingies that can pick up the satellites' signals.
I was convinced back in '96 that a church three doors down blocked my reception, but nope. |

I will say this though.....we get alot of satellite interference, weather-wise, here in the Houston area. I freakin hate when you're watching something and it cuts out b/c of storms. Pisses me off. So you non-satellite people win big there. |

Hell, no! I live in Dallas and my neighbor has that shit and gets pixellation and loss of picture at the slightest bit of wind. |

Yeah DirectTV IMO is crap and their customer service is awful. The only reason to get it is for the NFL stuff and FNL of course, it also could have been
because I hate how the channels are arranged. We literally had it for over a year and I still couldn't remember any of the channels. My brain is wired for
Dish Network. There must be Time Warner moles in the satellite companies in Texas because they told me the same thing when I tried to get a dish installed.
