Posts: 1885 (12/04/09 07:45 AM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts	- My opinions - The most underrated seasons are: Marquesas, Vanuatu and Palau. Pearl Islands is the best season, Fiji is the worst. The problem with some of the earliest seasons is that while the pre-merge is usually top notch, the post-merge leaves a lot to be desired. Seasons with returning players have yet to disappoint. Micronesia, ASS and Guatemala are all great <3 Playing a good game also means playing a good social game, you can't expect to win if you've backstabbed everyone unnecessarily. Bitter/negative juries are the most entertaining. You can like a someone for the entertainment they bring without liking them as a person (Shambo for instance), this seems lost on a lot of people. Editors are sexist, and have been so since the beginning. It's gradually getting worse though. Editing also seems to be getting more heavy handed per season. The final 3 is the single dumbest thing the producers have come up with, and it makes the last few episodes of the season extremely boring because no one will flip if they are in a solid alliance of 3. Hidden immunity idols, EI/CI style, are almost as bad. Regular immunity idols are stupid too, and don't add anything interesting to the game. They need to do men vs women again. Tribal swaps are unfair, but awesome at the same time. Tina is an overrated hag, Colby should have won. Bob is the worst winner, Tom the best, Danni the most bland. CI was rigged. I'll share some more of my wisdom later ^_^

Posts: 403 (12/04/09 08:31 AM) Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts	Opinion time! - Marquesas and Amazon are entertaining seasons and seriously underrated over here - Cook Island, Fiji and Gabon are hands down the worst three seasons - Yul is by far the most overrated winner - Aras is by far the most underrated winner - Final3 and HII have ruined Survivor - The players's strategies are nowadays much weaker than they used to be, since the survivors can't adapt in changing situations as well anymore ( given that there are much more twists nowadays, I blame the production ) - The best strategists Survivor has seen all appeared within the first 5 seasons with only few exceptions.

Those people are cowards and should not be allowed to talk until they see it for themselves. Amazon is the best season ever. The Final Three facing the jury is the worst twist ever. Past votes need to return as the tiebreaker. Helen Glover's final TC speech is better than Rats and Snakes. Anyone who needs to rely on winning immunity challenges or HII's to stay in the game is not a good player.

The Final Three facing the jury is the worst twist ever. Agreed! Runner up for me is the bottle twist. Past votes need to return as the tiebreaker. I'm happy with any form of tiebreaking. Past votes having an effect would make people play more cautiously, for sure, and would make it easier for powershifts (see: Tina in Australia), but rocks and fire challenges are probably just better TV for the producers. Helen Glover's final TC speech is better than Rats and Snakes. I unno, it was good, but I think Sue's was better, but I'm probably biased cause it came first. Anyone who needs to rely on winning immunity challenges or HII's to stay in the game is not a good player. I wouldn't say they're not a good player, but they're not a good social/strategic player. Too often at Sucks, people only focus on the strategic maneuvering, but there's still a physical aspect of Survivor. If they weren't able to get themselves out of an endangered position, when they needed immunity or a HII, they wouldn't be playing the game well in a strategic or social sense, but to me, some good players can be heavily dominant in a physical sense with some strategic sense. I think the great thing about Survivor is that it incorporates all sorts of social aspects with a mental/psychological component to form a strategic game, and at the same time, there's a survival aspect along with physical competition. It's great because no single style of gameplay is definitively 'better' than any other, and each player can play into their own strengths. For example, like Cirie said in S16, the girls couldn't beat Erik in a physical sense, so they outplayed him mentally and strategically. In the Amazon, Jenna probably knew she couldn't compete with Rob on a strategic level, so she had to take him out by beating him physically. And now in Samoa, Natalie realizes the although Russell is playing the best strategically, she's going to try to trump that with social gameplay. It's a wonderful game <3

It did provide some interesting strategy in Africa and Australia, but it also rewards utr/bland players that don't anger/threathen anyone. I like stones pre final 4 as it has been very effective so far in preventing ties. But they really should get something better than firemaking at the final 4.
