Wow - it's really getting ugly out there.
I have to put my Adam icon back on in his defense. |

From gawker.com:
GLAAD has released a statement approving ABC's decision to cancel two Adam Lambert appearances in the wake of his controversial AMA performance. Glambert was not cut for kissing a man and simulating oral sex on stage, they explain, but because he did so without telling anyone he was going to do it Sheesh. Way to support your own, GLAAD |

GLAAD has turned into an absolute
joke anyway. It will all blow over. A little controversy never hurts in the music business. I still this ABC is stupid for doing it, but when the
God-People cry they have to bow to them.

What made you do such a 180 on Adam? You thought he was OK at the beginning of his AI run, if I recall correctly ... not arguing with you, just curious.

No worries I didn't think you were. :)
His behavior since the show ended has really turned me off. I find him to be arrogant, douchy and just an all around asshole. I know his fans don't agree, and that's fine. But I totally have been turned off by him. And I really am tired of hearing other gays should support him just because he's gay. If I feel someone acts like a jerk, I don't care what their sexual orientation is. A jerk is a jerk. |

Fair enough :)
I totally agree that gays shouldn't support Adam, or any other gay public figure (whether they be entertainer or politician or what have you), for the simple fact that they share the same orientation. I just feel that ABC's reaction to the AMA performance was overkill, considering that the network played up the "this is going to be sooooo outrageous ... don't change that channel!!" angle for practically the whole damn show. I don't get a jerk vibe from Adam personally, but naivete on his part perhaps? Oh well, its a learning process I guess ... |

Looks like GLAAD is trying to back track because of all the flack they are getting for letting ABC off so easily. Here is their latest statement:
"We appreciate ABC's commitment to gay and transgender inclusion in other programming," said Jarrett Barrios, President of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. "However, let us be clear that GLAAD remains steadfast in our assertion that Adam Lambert is being subjected to a double standard by ABC as an openly gay performer. We do not support ABC cancelling Adam Lambert's past and future performances. We urge the community to reach out to ABC and express their concerns that Adam Lambert is being subjected to a double standard." |

So now GLAAD is not a joke, right?

seaguy wrote:Seaguy, most of us are pretty sensitive when it comes to arrogant, douchy behaviour (ie. Gokey) and having watched umpteen live interviews with Adam, I have to say that you are very simply wrong. At least have a look at a recent interview (like the one with Sirius below) and tell me honestly which part is douchy and arrogant. I think you've got a idea fixed in your head and it doesn't matter what Adam is actually like or how he acts in every public situation - you prefer to hang on to your misconceptions. I am SO sick and tired of people slamming and punishing him for one misstep in his career since AI. Since when has everyone gotten so nasty and judgemental? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1GwgiUeYq0

According to some commenters at MJ's, it sounds like Adam is going to be on The View to talk to the ladies and perform next Thursday.
