in their previous wc apperance, Greece was in the same group as Argentina & Nigeria as well. wow

In Algeria they must be thinking the same thing to be drawn in a group with Usa and Slovenia.

Depends on how you define a Group of Death.

Group G: Brazil 2; Portugal 5; Ivory Coast 16; North Korea 84

B: Argentina 8; Greece 12; Nigeria 22; South Korea 52

No question G has the toughest top 3 but a non entity at 84

South Korea capable of pushing top 3 in their Group B.

my two favo teams had a favorable draw.

Greece got South Korea (6th best team out of 8 in their pot) and Nigeria (5th best team in their pot). They didn't draw the US, Mexico, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Chile, Uruguay, Australia who are all ranked higher than either SK/NGR so I'm very satisfied. Argentina will finish first but I like Greece's chances of advancing.

as for the US, they drew the weakest of the top tier teams (lmfao @ England) and two of the lower ranked teams in the other pot. Slovenia could be dangerous but I'll be very surprised if the US doesn't pass.

Serbia didn't get a bad draw - they're better than Australia/Ghana imo & Germany is overrated.

Anybody interested in participating in a WC pool? When I was in Germany during the last WC some friends organised one. You pick things like: 1. which player will score the most goals; 2. which team will score the most; 3. which player gets the most yellow cards, etc. Is CRA around?

Shoot I forgot to watch this earlier.

Overall, it looks pretty balanced to me. No obvious group of death.

Holy crap the Krauts got lucky though, and Mexico got lucky again.

gee, thx for reminding me DeBrun

back in '94, Greece travelled to the US for tourism. they partied day & night and proceeded to get smoked in 3 gms.

this is a different team however - the current Greek players have more experience playing at an international level.

My dad is from Spain and my mom from Uruguay. I am so ready to root for both of them. Its going to be great, I love the World Cup
