Mick, Brett and Kelly fans have pretty much all admitted to only liking them because they are pieces of meat, in fact their fans will actually poke fun at how pointless they are in the game. Monica fans however (and there are lots of them) will never admit to liking her just because she's a fine piece of ass, but instead will try to convince us that she's a great character and player. THIS is what bugs me. You can like whoever you want, just as long as your rationale for it makes sense.

Agree protecting oneself against a known attack is not hypocrisy or disloyalty. But, as I posted above, continuing to go about playing Galu vs FF is stupid. Galu is gone. It is now AIGA! Wake up, dolt. Even someone as obtuse as Shambo figured that out. Voting out John at this point because he was disloyal to Galu was self defeating at best. He claimed he could deliver 3 Mick votes, he must have gone to one or more them. That was a point to string him along, consider the merit of his suggestion, realize it could work to their advantage and go for it. They were so hellbent on saving Dave and punishing John for Galu disloyalty they did not see that this was not the time to punish John, for now it was best to use him, string him along and smack him down later. It did not become crystal clear to them until after that vote that Natalie was not working with them and that Shambo had flipped. That was a mistake on everybody's part, especially Laura and Monica. If you were out there and your alleged tight group of five submitted your name as the one to write down how secure would you feel in that group?

Doesn't this seem contradictory? You're saying it shouldn't be Galu vs. Foa Foa and yet criticize them for voting out John? I agree it's an individual game. But it's also circumstantial. Foa Foa is a unit, so Galu must be a unit. John and Erik ruined Galu with their obsession to weaken Laura. John should have forced a tie. After he didn't, Galu should have regrouped and recruited Shambo. I think it's obvious that wasn't happening. So what was the alternative? Vote out Mick and have it be a tie, with Shambo voting out John in the re-vote? There was no predicting Shambo's actions, why would they rely on that? I kind of agree with you though; had I been Dave, Monica, or Brett, I would have tried to vote out Mick anyway. But voting out John wasn't nearly as stupid as the things John pulled or targeting Russell. After Laura left, Galu was pretty much screwed. It's not like they don't have a plan. Dave said they have ammo against Russell and intend to exploit that. They tried to avoid being in the situation they're in, but now that they are, they have to try something else. I don't think they thought it would be 5-5 because they didn't believe Russell had another HII but even if he did they were still thinking it would be 6-4 and maybe 7-3 if Natalie decided to work with the girls. John was too short sighted and dim witted to see that. Should they have run it by him first? Yep, but John should have been able to realize the rational and how it benefited him. It's not like he was super smart either, wanting to target Monica for fear she and Laura would team up with Mick/Natalie/Russell at final 11. Well, if you vote out Monica, then Laura teams up with Mick/Natalie/Russell/Jaison for sure, instead of maybe. Both result in 5 votes, which isn't even a fucking majority.

And actually your points have made me think more about Monica and change my opinion of her. Thank you for trying for making your points without launching into the silly name-calling that many disagreements/discussions devolve to. Monica appeared to be the only voice of reason to raise the point that he might have found the idol and putting all their eggs into the Russell basket wasn't the greatest idea. It was too bad for all of Galu that her intelligence wasn't respected and whiz kid numbers cruncher John didn't create scenario based on the possibility that Russell would have and play idol and what it would mean at next vote. It was a very realistic possibility which was shot down, they rolled the dice and lost. Contradictory? I see why it would appear that way. The Galu3 accepted Russell's plan to vote out John and went along with it because he stabbed Galu in the back. They voted on the basis that he stabbed Galu and I think we all agree they would have been better off changing their focus from this guy stabbed Galu in the back to who can we use to gain an advantage in this vote. John offered a lifeline. Set aside your hurt and anger and commitment to Galu purple and use the lifeline to your advantage. Deal with John's double cross later. If nothing else they could have caused used Russell's method against them: create chaos and get other people angry at each other. Natalie/Laura - I was referring to the night of the Russell/Kelly vote. Not entirely clear when it became clear to Laura realized Natalie wouldn't flip. Prior to the R/K vote Laura said this was a chance for them to see if Nat would work with them that's why I'm not sure when Laura realized Nat wouldn't flip; my impression was that Nat replaced Jaison as primary target at NEXT vote because Nat had proven she wouldn't flip at the R/K vote. Monica/Brett/Dave still seemed to have the GaluPurple Rah, Rah, Rah in their heads and agreed to vote John out instead of saying yeah he's a double-crossing bastard but let's use him to save our skins or at least go down fighting.

What I mean was this: watch the insider clip for the merge episode where John and Brett talk. John, very condescendingly I might add (what is with his heir of superiority?), was telling Brett why it would be smart to take down Monica. This was his argument: He was afraid Monica and Laura (note, no Kelly. He lacked the capacity to predict where Kelly's motives were) would team up with Natalie, Russell, and Mick if they voted out Jaison. First of all, this would only be 5 votes, which is NOT a majority. Second of all, this is a maybe scenario. By having the Galu guys turn on Monica, you alienate Laura (and Kelly). With Laura pissed off, she almost certainly jumps ship to the Foa Foa 4 ... which results in the same 5 person voting block he was afraid of, but by spooking Laura he almost insures that it comes to fruition. For someone who claims to have such great analytical skills, I'm glad this clip made him look like an idiot. Monica/Brett/Dave still seemed to have the GaluPurple Rah, Rah, Rah in their heads and agreed to vote John out instead of saying yeah he's a double-crossing bastard but let's use him to save our skins or at least go down fighting. I guess this comes down to interpretation; to me, it was more of a desperation move to save Dave than a move against John. Because watching the clip at the beginning, it seemed like Galu would have been on board with John's plan, but John's plan didn't work because 1. Sham had it out for Dave and 2. Russell played John. Both consequences were predictable, and John failed to realize this before he decided to take out Laura.

He wasn't a boot option so she would've been forced to vote for either Mick or John. I think she had a better relationship with John AND she was prone to getting offended easily so it was entirely possible for her to switch back to Galu, for that one TC anyway.

You're right, it could possibly have happened. But given how pissed Sham was at Dave, why would she vote with Dave? Something to ponder at least. But you have a great point; if I were in Monica, Dave, or Brett's shoes, I would have voted for Mick and rolled the dice. Perhaps made a plea at tribal council. But in the same way, I can see why they didn't want to gamble there and why they would try a new avenue to flip the game with Mick the next day. And by no means do I think it was as stupid as the other moves John has pulled. Plus, John stated in one of his interviews that after Mick, it would be Brett and Dave. As the number of Galu diminish, the chance a Foa Foa or two will flip increases, and so I can see why they would put out a Galu they didn't trust in order to keep the three of them together, along with a better chance to flip the game.

I also haven't watched Insider so there are pieces I'm not aware of. But what you said about Dave makes the preview clip of Dave/Monica chattin up Mick makes sense...guess they told Mick about John's plan to have everyone vote Mick and trying to connect that back to Russell to get some Foans to flip. As for the Galu3 not voting with John - I think it's very easy for me, or anyone at home, to say they should have worked the 4-4-1 tie angle and hope for the best. But truthfully, if I'd been out there 30 days, just seen everything we'd worked for flushed down the portapotty, had my head chewed off by some power-mad Paranoid Delusional Schizophrenic and been told I was being voted out that night and someone who helped set all this in motion came to me with a new plan it'd be pretty hard not to flush them down the portapotty. And someone else comes along with a plan that will save me AND get rid of the arocket scientist I'd probably say thanks and go along with it. Dave's voting words for John were "we're getting too close to someone winning a million dollars." Dave somewhat concedes he may not win but at least he knows John won't and he had a hand in making sure of that. Somewhat like the deal Adam/Parv made with Yul to get Jonathan out before they got booted except Dave's doesn't come with an agreement to vote Russell at final TC. She is constantly underestimated with her head on the chopping block, and she manages to pull through. She hasn't made any moves but she is thinking strategically. Plus she is hot.

Eric and John wanted Monica gone, so then the other clique in the tribe gets pissed off, so instead of trying to coexist for a time, they do a knee jerk reaction. To see how bad this actually is in action, go to Ponderosa and check out the clips between Eric and the girls right after Laura gets voted off, then check out the clips after John gets voted off. In the first case, Laura is telling Eric to basically get over it, but then she returns to hammering John when he gets there. None of them would consider themselves traitors to their "tribe" , when in actuality, they all are. Hard to believe that a tribe that could do so well in the challenges, is so downright stupid when it comes to any sort of strategy.

When they were released from their cages they started going after each other. For Timbira, Coach-Debbie-Tyson went after Brendan-Sierra, Erinn on the sidelines. Galu subdivided Galu Girls Club (La-Mon-Kel), Galu Guys Club (Erik/John), InvisiBrett and Dave have membership in both clubs, Shambo is singing and dreaming in a tree trunk and Russell S. is trying to hold it together. Boys Club starts targeting Girls Club so they can avoid being first out post merge. Russell passes out, plan put on hold. Merge occurs. Boys Club starts it in motion again, hope to enroll members of former Foan Beach Club, plan backfires when Female Foan decides to check out Galu Girls Club.
