That unusually scheduled, not produced. MDN, scheduling only reflects the production decisions regarding the timing of each boot and having a Finale with 5 people. Creative scheduling may have tinkered around the edges by eliminating the recap but that's about it. |

This season has really come to a horrible crossroads. By now we would be looking at 1 or 2 decent edits and figuring out who has the best overall edits
(JT/Stephen, Parvati/Cirie, Kenny/Matty). Not all of the winners come from that list, but they usually do with a few exceptions (S11, S17).
This season we at a major paradox. Instead of looking at the best overall edits, we must resort to looking at the least of the absolutely horrible edits. Right now, Jaison and Mick's edits are not horrible. They aren't all that good, but they aren't complete wrecks. That's the only criteria there is to even try and guess a winner. But the only other issue is that we are heading toward the 10 year anniversary and Russell fits the Richard Hatch mold the best that any inbred, trashy, contestant can. Season 1 was all about Richard and nobody would have guessed that he could possibly win and he did. At this point the season cannot go to a female because it would seem incredibly contrived that the producers do not acknowledge female winners as being anything worthwhile. Therefore it has to be a male and the only two males on Galu are Dave and Brett. That speaks for itself. So, really, it's a matter of looking at Jaison, Mick, and Russell. Let's face the facts: nobody is glaring victory in the eyes and by default all 3 have a chance in a dismal season as this has become. So argue away to support your favorite Foa Foa male. Everyone's case will make sense for or against any of them because none of them will be all that wonderful (although at least Jaison will at least have a story to surround his victory as personal growth). |

If you mean that the producers would not allow a female winner to look Danni-like in terms of 'worthwhileness', would they consider a win by Mick, as they've portrayed him, to be the epitome of this worthwhileness? |

At times it's a boring young male, at times it's a girl who rode coattails most of the way who won through a 'not the other guy' vote, and at times it's someone who was the last of their pagonged tribe who managed to divide and conquer and the majority tribe, at times it's someone who lead their alliance of 5 all the way from beginning to end. The editors don't choose who their winner is, how exciting their personality is, how much of a nice guy/jerk they are, or how they got to the end. If Russell wins then it'll just be a coincidence that near the 10th year anniversary of Survivor another guy similar to Richard Hatch wins survivor, and not because the editors decided "Lets make whoever wins into another Richard Hatch because they won exactly 10 years after Richard Hatch won". |

Mick had one of the most solid pre-merge edits while Natalie's were mostly UTR. Also, Russell can either be a huge attention hog or a Richard. But I agree with Jaison being number one right now. |

Brett - INV0 Dave - MOR3 Jaison - CPP3 John - OTTN4 Mick - MOR3 Monica - UTR1 Natalie - UTRP1 Russell - CP4 Shambo - OTTN5 The only one I was really torn about was Shambo, because I think the editors tried to make her M, I just think it failed dismally. Editorial intent = M, editorial effect = N (a conclusion I arrive at with the support of some "casual viewers" I watched the episode with). I still think that Jaison and Mick are the best cases available, and Jaison continues to prove the better. I simply can't justify supporting either Russell, because of his unparalleled tone, or Natalie, because of her first three episodes then two UTR1's in a row at this stage of the game (and both were mainly to do with challenge footage), and obviously the Galu's are out, so I'm to the Foa Foa Pretty Boys. The biggest concern I have with Mick (other than his lack of tone, lack of CP, and late-game UTR's) is the fact that he's being so consistently under-edited when he has been paired with one of the biggest distractions ever created. When there is a huge distraction available, the winner is able to flourish under that and get a nice, strong edit (think Coach/JT from last season). Why would Russell be created as such a huge distraction and then Mick not be utilized behind that shield??? Jaison's biggest detractors are supporters of the "quitting =/= winner" camp, but it's hardly an Edgic guideline and hardly seems as bad as the problems the other Foa's face. I am a bit concerned with the way he was edited as an alternate boot target against Liz and his conflicting pre-merge tone (which is fairly unwarranted in a winner), but again, his edit is honestly pretty strong. Along with everyone else, I'm in the Foa Foa camp, and am one of those who has narrowed it down to the two pretty boys there. If it's a Galu, it's gotta be Monica! |

There have been excellent points for all four of the Foa Foas. And it's not fair that if you pick the wrong one that "you're fucking with Edgic." I am not I think Nat fits Edgic the best out of what we are left with. |
