predictable winners...
Before the season starts, or once they start running the Race?
I dispute that the seasons are predictable prior to the running of the race. The last two seasons are a good example. If I told you that a M/F team of lawyers in good shape and a M/F dating couple in good shape were racing against one another, who would you say would win? In S.14, it was the lawyers smoking the dating couple (who were out fourth). This year, it was the dating couple smoking the lawyers (who were out fifth). That's not predictable.
Once they start running the race, what can the producers do to stop a team that proves themselves better than the other teams? You can only put so many bunch points in a leg before it gets absurd, and people complain even more bitterly if a team gets eliminated by random chance versus something in their control. If teams control their own destiny, you have to accept that the better teams will tend to win. The only thing we, as viewers, can hope for is that casting is good enough at what they do to make sure that all the racers will be interesting in some way, and that the editors won't neuter a team to give them more mass appeal.
