Were Brian and Ericka cheated??? |

Make no mistake Amazing Race fans: Local team Ericka Dunlap and Brian Kleinschmidt did complete the final $1 million poker-chip count and finish the race fair
and square, Dunlap says, even though that part was edited out of the final episode. And someone else's mistake, she says, could have cost them the win and
its $1 million prize. For those who don't watch the finale of the CBS reality show on Sunday, the married Nashville couple made it to the final three in
the worldwide race to win $1 million. Dunlap quickly scaled the side of a casino in Las Vegas landing the team in first place. Then she, with her husband's
help, had to bungee bounce to the ceiling and grab a bouquet of flowers; the former Miss America had a hard time with that, and their team moved to third.
However, they arrived at the last challenge - counting out $1 million dollars in poker chips - in second place. The episode showed the two other teams quickly
advancing to the last phase, leaving Dunlap and Kleinschmidt to figure out where they went wrong. Dunlap said on Monday that the counter who checked their work
made a mistake that placed them third in the challenge and could have cost them the race. "It's easy for us to blame her and say it was her fault, but
it really was," Dunlap said. "She was organizing her chips once we laid them on the table, and she put one of the black $500 chips in the same pile
in between the blue $100 chips. We were $400 off and it was something really crazy …. When she found out that she had done that, her face was so pale. Oh gosh,
she really looked like she had seen a ghost. She looked over at the producers like, 'What do I do? They were like, 'Count it again guys.' I was
like, 'You're kidding me, right? When the show aired, the part where Dunlap and Kleinschmidt completed the last task never aired. It is important to
Dunlap that people know they did. "We are finishers and we finished that race completely," she said.

If that's true, then that really sucks for Team Zebra (and I was rooting for them). However, there really isn't a way to prevent that from happening
or to make good once they realize it was a mistake on the counter's part.
At least Meghbot and SurferBoy won instead of the brothers. That would have totally ruined this season for me. |

That wasn't it, it was the melt down at the bungie jump task that put them behind. They were destend for third from that point on.
But I am sure Ericka nd Brian Fans will chime in and say how that they would have totally caought up and passed everyone. It is one thing to lose, but yet another to blame someone else. |

No, they weren't cheated. getting a bad chip counter is no different than getting a bad taxi driver, having your car break down, or having a tough judge
for a task. Is there any way to get the Miss America committee to revoke the crown of this harridan? What a whiny ass titty baby!

Wait, did she fuck up the first time or the second? Because if it was the first, yes, they were cheated.
And no, this =/= bad taxi driver. This = a bad ticket person. It'd be like they marked somebody wrong on the Kafta test when they had their finger over one of the letters. O.o JaimeCat22 wrote:That was a fact check that somebody fucked up and Lex and Tom F2 money for it. They probably added a clause for it after that season. However it wasn't a TAR rule since we had Romber and the planegate. Otherwise he wouldn't have said anything. Although I do believe if anything, one was added after that season.

Pretty sure there's a clause in the massive contracts they sign before going on the show that says something to the effect of: "If you lose the race
due to a production screw-up, you're shit out of luck. Sorry."
Didn't something similar happen during S3, where Lex supposedly should have won the final challenge and would have made final 2? When you go on these shows you have to be prepared for these things to happen. |

Nope. They did not cheat in the chips task.

And I bet they would have gotten a time credit if it had been a different episode. Didn't the same thing happen with the beauty queens in the final episode on all stars with faulty equipment? However, they were not the first team to finish the count and would not have won the game so it's a moot point. |

I was wondering why they didn't use a machine to count the money, in the first place.
I disagree because it was someone that was provided by the race. The things that the race provides should be fair. Its not like anyone could have predicted human error. Or she did it on purpose. And its hard to tell on which time she counted that she made the mistake, or if it would have made a difference in the outcome. |

They should have beat the chip counters ass on the spot....it would have made for a better finale.

Odd that this really happened to a team because when watching I was thinking the same thing. That a counter might get it wrong. But to me that's part of
it.. Keep your chips tight and point out the daggum mistake... It sucks... But such is life.

In roadblocks/detours over the seasons, different teams have had different judges and some were tougher to satisfy than others, and they were provided by the race. She's a WATB! |

When did the chip lady make the mistake? before or after the gay brother team left? If it was after the fact chances are they wouldn't have won anyways

Ugh this is terrible. When I saw the task, I hated it because of the outside party counting their chips and I knew someone was gonna get screwed by the person
counting.
If it was the first time counting, then they were screwed. Especially since Megan/Cheyne couldn't find the finish line, Brian/Ericka could have easily beaten them. Of course the Rombertards don't think this is unfair but think that a pilot making the independent decision to allow 2 more passengers before they had even lifted off into the air or left the terminal is rigging by production. |

Are TAR runner ups given substantial prize money like on Survivor? If so, Brian and Ericka should at least be awarded 2nd place money with Sam and Dan.
Really upsetting though... :-\ This is the first time since BJ/Tyler that my favorite team made it to the final 3 and they were actually in the competition for once, I was *so* excited |
