Yet again, I decided not to watch "live" last night and I haven't seen the performances yet. Interesting posts around here and reading this
thread, the only thing I am looking forward to seeing is CG's poufy hair.

Russell's smile in the Bollywood piece was flat out TERRIFYING. It was distracting and horrible.

I haven't read anyone's comments here but I think my opinion of some people changed with this week's performances. I saw extremely impressed with
how hard Ryan and Kathryn were fighting to stay in and felt that some people like Mollee and Ellenore and Russell and Legacy just failed in their solos. For
three of them ,I think they did not seem to be trying hard enough and in the case of Russell, it was simply desperation. The more desperate he looks, the more
it's not the look of a star. And Nigel needs to SHUT THE FUCK UP about him being a star because it is annying as fuck. He bashes Nathan to the point where
he goes and now he's propping up Russell undeservedly. It's just ridiculous. I liked Russell just fine but I do recognize his shortcomings. He's
tried his best in everything and has succeeded really well in his attempts at the different styles but he's just not cutting the mustard at this stage.
Legacy too... I was more impressed with what Legacy's done since I never even liked him in the beginning but this week was a failure because of bad luck of
the draw and getting shitty routines. Oh yes, I'm saying it, that stupid table dance rehash was not Emmy worthy. Shut the fuck up Nigel. I thought it was
messy and just didn't get it and not sure anyone else did yet since I haven't read this thread.
With the work they put into it and based on some of the rehersal footage, I say Ryan, Ashleigh, Kathryn and Jakob, who is always good, all deserve to go though. Loved the fact that Ryan spoke up for his wife using his own time. Hope they all get through just based on how things went this week. |

When Melanie danced with Pasha and Russell, she deliberately didn't give it everything she had, prolly because her partners were the ones we were supposed
to be watching. Should the experts in a particular style always do this when dancing with a contestant? (Yes, I know Pasha was in his usual style, but he and
Anya never collected the amount of hardware as Tony and Melanie.) Because the show requires versatility, should we compare Russell to Alicia? The comparisons
to Nathan and other non-Bollywood dancers would be more fair. Russell's suckage at this style would still have been apparent had he danced it alone.
The opposite can be said of the hip hop. That's the best dance assistant Shane could get? She made Russell look better by comparison, so if you average out the 2 routines... |

Strange show. - Love Kathryn, of course. Her second number was flat-out amazing. I don't see as much love for the first, which came off as a bit awkward (mainly due to spacing in the choreography and Ryan, though), but all in all she had an incredible night. Her solo was also one of the best female solos we've ever had on the show. I voted for her during the first hour of voting and got busy signals regularly - last week I voted for her an hour and a half and never got ONE busy signal. - Ashleigh... *sigh* I really wish we had seen her perform both of those, because it would've solidified in my mind whether she's good or not. Unfortunately... I honestly do like her more than Mollee though, and wouldn't be upset if Mollee went home (neither she nor Ashleigh will win in a F6 finale). - Mollee was a'ight tonight. She really has improved since F10, but first of all, that's not saying much, and second of all, the judges are praising her FAAAAR more than deserved. I really enjoyed the waltz a lot, but did not get the love on the Broadway routine. Skipped the solo. - Ellenore. Okay, I am NOT getting the love on the first piece. I really loved elements of the choreography but the music just completely ruined it for me. I felt as thought I could've muted the TV and gotten the same effect. However, Ellenore was incredible in it and really did create a new and awesome character. YAY for her. No comments on the hip-hop. - Ryan really is trying. He did fine tonight, but every time he was with Kathryn it looked almost like a DWTS piece where he was the (albeit bad) professional and she was the spotlighted celebrity. I barely looked at him and she outshined him in every way. Let's not get started on him grandstanding about Ashleigh. - Russell, get rid of the damn smile. I thought he did well in both pieces but not exceptional, and the smile just creeped me out. He's the same old Russell, yawn, yawn. The hip-hop assistant was embarrassing, though. - Jakob was still in form last night. Loved the waltz, loved the solo, meh @ the Broadway. He truly is one of the best dancers we've seen, though. - Legacy was fine. Ellenore outshined him in their piece by far, but that's to be expected. He seems the same as he's always been, no improvement or lessening, so whatev. I just hope he doesn't win. I'm guessing it'll be a Ryan/Jakob B2 tonight with Ryan gone, and an Ashleigh/Ellenore B2 with Ashleigh gone. We shall see. Kathryn stands a great shot at winning, now (if the voters respond accordingly). Either her or Jakob, plz.... |

zippityboomboom wrote:Ruseell was doing some locks in there that seemed out of place. I noticed it strongly live, but forgave him because he brought such energy and I actually liked the dance. Of course, unlike Nigel I was watching Alicia more than Russell. I was getting these awesome glimpses of what Bollywood can really be. That sad, I think Russell did pretty well with what he was given. On TV, I do agree the ChaCha came off better than Travis's routine. It really was an awesome ChaCha, and Kathryn was smoking in a way Ashleigh could not have been. Ellenore and Legacy's routine, I decided, might not have been smart for Travis to do: It had the adrenaline in it, the risk factor, and the intensity that does not always translate on screen. It is kind of like the difference of seeing a Cirque du Soleil special on Bravo or seeing Ka live in Vegas: Still good for me, but the two really cannot be compared. This may sound cheesy, but there were actually several gasps in the audience once it was done. People had been holding htier breath. ETA: I must confess that Ashleigh DID come off as very sweet and humble live. She actually looks prettier in person, too... if that is possible.

If it is possible for her to look pretty at all is what I meant. :) At least she doesn't have bushy hair.

Too bad her spouse isn't dead. I mean, for her... it makes her sob story more sobby.
