Its actually kind of pathetic watching his 6 foot+ body lumber around the stage, hearing him screech out songs with that awful singing voice, and awkwardly bring out emotions during the whole altercation scene.

When the locker room scene was starting, I was holding my breath that they were just going to write him off. Yet, by the end of the episode, I found myself no longer hating him, but also hoping that at the end of the last song, him and Rachael would share the last second kiss, and the Emma/Will tension would resume after the hiatus. Still, PHENOMENAL episode. Can't wait to re-watch after finals this week. At least I have a playlist to last me until then.

I liked that little nod to the show along with the mash up of dance routines from the past episodes. Why is April so far away?

Don't know how true it is, or if that line includes the original with the cover, but it was funny to hear nonetheless. Best moments were definitely Figgins finally getting a backbone, the dance mashup, the party line at the beginning of the episode, "just sway in the back," and surprisingly, most, if not all of the dramatic parts involving Will, Emma, and Finn. The ditzy blond was funny, but I much preferred the cynical state comptroller instead. And for some reason, I thought the choreo for You Can't Always Get What You Want was eerily similar to Somebody to Love. But Lea really rocked the non-traditional ballad Don't Rain On My Parade.

Mercedes was good on AITYING as well....So much love for this episode, but I'm embarassed to say I didn't even notice the mashup....Oh well. I'll watch it again tomorrow when I'm not cutting myself studying for my astronomy final.

It seems that Quinn doesn't know that Terri isn't going to buy the baby... I really enjoy how the show keeps the little things in: like Brittney waving at the deaf choir, Jacob trying to rub Rachel's shoulders on the bus, etc. Oh, and Kurt finally getting to dance the girls parts in the final number. The show has a lot to live up to.. I pray they can keep it going. (P.S. Amber - Mercedes - appeared on Fox News afterwards singing "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" with Stevie Wonder) Edited to add: LOL at "Artie keeps ramming himself into the wall" and SHOWING Artie ramming himself into the wall... Seriously . . . the combination of all of the routines so far set to one of my favorite songs of the year (I'm a total sucker for Kelly) just worked so well that it wasn't even funny. PLEASE BE APRIL . . . NOW. That being said, now that the first part of the season is done airing, what are everyone's favorite songs/musical numbers so far? I need to go back and (re-)re-watch some of the earlier episodes, but for right now I think my favorites of the season have definitely been "Don't Stop Believin'" (obviously), "Keep Holding On," "Papa Don't Preach," and "My Life Would Suck Without You." Oh and just for the record, although I like all of the characters, am I the only one who thinks that Quinn is a motherfucking g.oddess? It also struck me what an amazing series finale this would have been had it not worked out. Is it April yet? Freakin April. Oh well. I guess I'll just watch the first 13 a dozen times or so.

Remove this ad Looking back on the season, there are very few songs that actually had the dual characteristic of being sung well and looking awesome on screen. Remember the boys mashup and how we thought that the girls was far superior to it, only to see that it was actually the other way around? That kind of stuff greatly influences what my favorites were this fall. Overall, I don't think anything will ever end up matching DSB. Similarly, I liked "Keep Holding On" and "Somebody to Love", although I know some of y'all didn't like them. And perhaps most surprising of all, Mark Salling's "Sweet Caroline" was a winner. I didn't particularly care for "Bust Your Windows", "No Air", and everything except for "Maybe This Time" during Chenowith's episode, which was another surprise. Again, though, that may have had to do more with presentation rather than singing. Favorite episode had to have been a tie between the pilot and "Throwdown" with this last episode coming in just behind them. Least favorite would probably be "Hairography" if only for the sheer ridiculousness of it (but Britney/Heather Morris wins breakout character for sure).
