Living in Texas, I can't tell you how many people stopped watching after Colby lost. Some pissed off country folk after that one.

It wasn't just Texas. Colby losing was the worst thing for the show. I was personally stunned, had no concept of what a bitter jury was but I couldn't
fathom how the guy who played the hardest most kick ass game lost to the under the radar mom.
I get it know, part of why I truly love Survivor, it's all about social dynamics but back then, that stopped the show from being a juggernaut and relegated it to the steady ratings grabber it is and has been since. -SJ™ |
