I didn't really think about it, but really, the edits of homosexuals/bisexuals haven't been very good. Rather, they've been pretty negative.
Take a look:
Richard- Negative
*Mitchell- Negative
Brandon- Negative
John- Negative
Richard again- Negative
Ami- Negative
Scout- Positive turned negative
Coby- Not sure, kind of negative towards the end
*Brian C- Kinda positive
Rafe- Positive! First for sure.. 11 seasons, it took
JP (wasn't out at the time of the show, though)- Negative
Brad- Non-entity
*Anthony- Positive and Negative
Todd- Negative
Ami again- Kinda Positive
Natalie- Negative and non-entity
Chet- Negative
Charlie- Non-entity
Spencer- Nothing really, kind of non-entity
*Shambo- Nutcase, positive and negative
*= either don't know if they're gay or they're clearly closeted
Really... the editors haven't given gays or bis very likeable edits, and if they weren't either, they were shafted in the edit. Rafe really is the only
positive gay they've edited, I think. Eek. You gays should be pissed!
Just some thoughts. Found it interesting. Can't be surprised, though.

Yea John Carroll got a pretty negative edit. He became a real cocky asshole then when he got voted out started crying, apologized to his mum then talked about
how good his abs looked.

Anthony is definately straight, considering he had a girlfriend whilst he was in Fiji. Same with Brian C, as he's affirmed in his posts here and other
places. Additionally I believe Ami has denied her lesbianism and is engaged to man.
The editing problem exists because Survivor increasingly aims to cast people who match stereotypes, and one of those is bitchy gay guy. It's true of several casting types. |

Hatch in ASS was negative? I don't know about that; obviously they couldn't cut out the Sue incident, and they threw in a few fat naked guy with a
small penis jokes but I think the overall presentation was that this was the Survivor legend. They had fun with him
but it was out of respect for being the guy that defined the show.

Well, here is the thing.
Back in the summer of 2000, before I tuned in to watch Survivor (I had seen the commercial and it was being touted as one part THE PRICE IS RIGHT and one part GILLIGANS ISLAND, which when I was a kid ditching school I often watched so I decided to give the show a try). In that summer, if you had asked me about what I thought of gay men, I would have told you that they were all foppish girly men that concentrated everything on clothes and shopping. So when I saw Richard Hatch emerge on the show, as someone that is into the outdoors, I have to say I was impressed by Richard Hatch's portrayal of himself, as someone that definitely changed the way people like him were viewed. |

I think a lot of them on there have personalities that you have to get. Like Randy said in Gabon, "If you get me, you're not offended by me." I liked a lot of the homosexuals' edits. Also, Sonja was gay, and she got a pretty positive edit. |
