Episode 2 - Undisclosed Title

The Time For Action

Upon returning from tribal council, a few of the Foa Foa castaways express disappointment over Jaison's choice. Ashley was upset over the loss of a friend "It really sucked to see Mike go home. I mean, he was just such a nice guy and he wanted to be out here SO badly. I get where Jaison's coming from, but it still hurts to see Mike go home instead of Russell." Russell H., on the other hand, has his mind focused on how Mike's departure changes the game "It wasn't me, and that's a positive, but right now, I'm lookin' at the numbers and Marisa's little clique have almost half the tribe under their spell. I need to start makin' moves if I don't wanna go home next." Meanwhile, Marisa's alliance discusses Russell's call-out at tribal council. Marisa says that it was a desperate effort and that Russell will be gone soon enough, but Natalie expresses doubts "We have a strong alliance…but there's only four of us. The other five could still team up. I don't know if I trust Marisa enough to put my fate in her hands."

A Calm Vibe

After a heated tribal council, the Galu tribe wakes up bright and early to start their day. Kelly and Dave go off to the beach together to practice some early morning yoga. Kelly describes the atmosphere around camp "It was really nice to wake up this morning and just have everyone in good spirits. There's a very mellow atmosphere around camp and I think it's good for us." The tribe is then shown sitting around their fire pit, cheering as John strikes the tribe's new flint against their machete, giving them fire. John comments on the event "I'm a rocket scientist, so normally I deal with equations and planning and stuff. But today I made fire for the camp, so I guess I'm brains, beauty, and a kickass outdoorsman too, haha. I'm the triple threat." The tribe then spends the morning just sitting around the campfire and relaxing, with Dave telling a funny story, resulting in laughter from the tribe, and roaring laughter from Yasmin. Erik tells a few jokes that once again have Yasmin laughing out loud, which he comments on "Yasmin can be very expressive. She's definitely one of those girls who goes to the movies and then yells stuff at the screen."

Alliance Building 101

Russell kneels by the fire pit in the morning as Ben strikes up the tribe's fire again after it went out during the night. Betsy sits with them as Russell H. brings up the subject of alliances. He intimates to the camera "Mike goin' home took out one more number I could've used against those girls. My back is up against the wall right now, so right now, it's not like talkin' to people is gonna make things WORSE, but it might make things a whole lot better." He says he trusts the two of them implicitly, as they're both hard workers, and he feels at though he has a shared experience with them. He then brings up the fact that Marisa's alliance is dangerous, because they nearly have a majority, so the three of them need to stick together. Ben discusses Russell's offer "Russell'n me are both southerners at heart, and we're men of our word. Like, when he tells me he wants to work with me and he wants to have my back, I'm gonna believe him. No questions asked." Betsy, Ben and Russell shake hands, agreeing to work together with a common interest, with the intent of trying to sway some of the others in the near future.

The All-Seeing Eye

John, Erik and Monica carry wood, or in Monica's case, palm fronds, back to camp as Brett watches them from the shelter. He discusses life around camp "I don't really have anyone I'm really CLOSE to. But at this point, I'm think I'm in a good position, because right now, I'm just watching everyone. I'm seeing who goes off with who, and who doesn't like who, and I want to use that to my advantage." Kelly and Yasmin laugh as Kelly works on braiding Yasmin's hair, with Russell saying he calls the next seating. Yasmin says she can braid his hair while Kelly does hers. Brett continues to simply observe the others in his tribe "I've seen Erik and John hanging around a lot. John and Monica are cuddling in the shelter. Yasmin and Kelly hang out. Russell and Shambo are always working around camp. There's so many pairs on this tribe that we're like a powder keg waiting to explode. And I don't want to get caught in the blast."

Love Is In The Air?

Mick and Jaison are standing at the tribe's shelter, adjusting the tribe's roof so that it sits up higher and more securely. Natalie watches them from the fire pit "I've got a boyfriend back home, but Mick and Jaison…I'm not gonna lie…those two're some good lookin' men. If I can use my southern charms to get in good with them, I'll do it. I know it's just a game and after this is all over…what happens in Samoa stays in Samoa." Mick and Jaison lay on their stomachs inside the shelter as Natalie kneels over Mick, rubbing his back, and Marisa rubbing Jaison's. Mick jokingly ask Natalie to move lower, and all four of them laugh. He comments on Natalie "I don't know, maybe Natalie's just playing the game and trying to get my guard down, but...I've got a girlfriend back home, and she's a big part of why I'm out here right now. So while the massages are nice, I'll have to make sure Natalie doesn't go too far." Meanwhile, Marisa moves up between Jaison's shoulderblades and describes her strategy "Jaison didn't make the decision I wanted at tribal council, but he also didn't go against me, either, so I'm gonna do anything it takes to secure him on our side."

Reward/Immunity Challenge 2 - As the Wheel Turns

Jeff welcomes the two tribes to the challenge and reveals that Mike was voted out of Foa Foa, while Laura was voted out of Galu. He then announces that the two tribes will both be competing, once again, for both reward and immunity. The challenge is set up with a massive pole sticking out of the beach with two rotating beans extending from it in opposite directions, each one with a movable wheel on the end. When Jeff says go, the two teams begin pushing on their beam, making the wheel move through the sand in a clockwise direction, towards the other tribe. When one tribe's wheel touches the other tribe's, that tribe wins the challenge. Jeff reveals the reward to be flippers, a snorkle, a diver's mask, fishing hooks, fishing line, and a Hawaiian sling.

The two tribes get in position and begin pushing when Jeff says go. Russell H. and Jaison push near the wheel for their tribe, digging their heels in and straining. On Galu, Shambo takes on a similar role, barking at her tribe to push harder, while Monica and Kelly, the two smallest members of the tribe, struggle to push at the far end. Foa Foa works together, their men and Betsy pushing hard at the far end of their axle while the other girls do their part, keeping up. Foa Foa starts to close the gap as Shambo looks back and yells for the younger girls at the end to push harder. Monica stumbles and falls, which results in the team needing to stop briefly to help her up. Foa Foa continues to gain ground before finally, their wheel hits the back of Galu's, giving them the win.

Jeff hands Foa Foa their basket of fishing supplies while Galu looks on dejectedly. Jeff tells them he'll see them at tribal council, and both tribes head off for home as Shambo offers her thoughts on the situation "I can't BELIEVE we lost again, man. We're a STRONG tribe, but we just can't get it together for these challenges, and I just don't GET it."

Broken Love Tribe

At the Galu campsite, Monica apologizes to the tribe for letting them down, and gets a hug from John. She expresses dismay about her performance "There's no one on the tribe who really DESERVES to go home, and it just sucks to do so poorly in the challenge, because that puts a target on my back." Shambo goes off on the tribe, telling them how frustrated she is and how the team needs to start winning, because she doesn't want to have to go back to tribal council again. Erik responds to her comments "Shambo gets a little emotional. Probably that time of the month. But um…if she doesn't want to have to go to tribal council again…I know ONE way that could make SURE she doesn't have to deal with it, so let's get her outta here." Shambo sits in the ocean, along with Russell, and vents about her frustrations to him. She continues to vent in a confessional "I HATE to lose, and I KNOW we don't have any losers on this tribe, but I just don't get WHY we can't pull this off. Those guys on the yellow tribe aren't so tough. We should be kickin' their asses."

Leader in the Middle

Jaison, Russell and Ben go off together to try fishing, using their new equipment, and while they stand out in the water, Russell H. once again restates his offer of an alliance to Jaison. He says "I've got Ben, I've got Betsy, but I still need two more votes if I'm gonna make it through the next tribal council. Jaison's a strong guy and he's someone I need on my side, because it makes sense for him to keep me." Jaison says he's down with the idea, and Ben, using the Hawaiian sling, manages to catch himself a reasonably-sized fish, which results in high-fives and congratulations from the other two men.

Marisa and Liz are then shown swimming with Jaison, where Liz asks him what he was talking about with Russell and Ben earlier. Jaison tells them that Russell asked him about joining an alliance with him again. Marisa expresses concern about Russell's offer "I like Jaison, and he seems like a nice guy who could be really useful to my alliance, but it just really worries me that he's dealing with Russell. I need him to be solid with me." As Jaison shakes hands with the girls and hugs Marisa, he comments on his own situation "I'm kinda caught in the middle right now, because both of these sides want my vote, and I know I'm gonna piss someone off either way. It's not a good spot to be in."

The Player or the Played?

Brett discusses the vote, now that the challenge has been lost "No one WANTS to make a decision about who to vote out, but from where I'm standing, there's two people who've really stepped up and put their necks on the line." Russell is shown talking with Brett about voting out Monica as a weak link in the challenges. Russell brings up that she's not going to bring anything to the team physically, and Brett agrees. Brett is then shown talking with John and Erik about voting out Shambo for being a negative impact on the tribe. John nods and agrees, and Erik says they can't have someone making a scene like that after every loss. Brett then explains his own strategy "I may not have any close connections with anyone yet, but if I play my cards right, I can make it so whoever goes home…half the tribe is in the majority, and I'm part of that majority."

Russell S. is then shown talking to a group of Shambo, Dave, Yasmin and Kelly, saying that the target is Monica at tribal council. He shows dismay about the vote "Monica's a sweet girl, but right now, our tribe is just down and we need to stay strong if we're gonna survive." In a separate meeting, John solidifies the vote with Monica and Erik, saying they need to vote out Shambo before she becomes a blight on their tribe. Monica is relieved to hear the news "I know we've got a strong alliance going right now, and it's just a huge weight off my shoulders to know someone ELSE is the target."

John meets with Kelly and tells her that he wants to vote out Shambo, but he needs her vote to have the numbers to keep Monica. He says that he's got Erik, Monica, himself and Brett, which leads to confusion from Kelly, who asks about Brett. John confirms his statement as Kelly wonders if what he's saying is accurate "John tells me that he needs my vote to take out Shambo, because he already has four votes on his side, including Brett. Now, RUSSELL told me that Brett is with HIM in voting out Monica. So I'm wondering…whose side is Brett on?"

Kelly is then shown having a conversation and telling Russell what she was told by John. Russell S. wonders why Brett would try to play both sides "We're less than a week into the game…why are you gonna try and stir things up already? We need to be UNITED." Russell then talks to John for confirmation of what Kelly told him, and John begins to feel a bit irritated with Brett "We don't even have the numbers WITH him, so it seems like just punk move to try and make me look bad after the vote. That's not cool."

Russell, Dave and Shambo discuss the vote and question whether it would be smarter to vote out Brett, or to stick with the plan and vote out Monica. Shambo expresses displeasure "Is Brett our weakest link? No. I don't care if he's throwing me under the bus or not. He didn't cost us during that challenge. Monica did. She's a nice girl, but she's our weakest link." Erik expresses a similar concern on his side of the alliance "I don't really give a *censored* if Brett's a liar or not. Shambo dug her grave and now she should have to lie in it." Brett caps off the scene as the tribe heads off to tribal council "Whatever happens tonight, it's gonna suck to see someone go home, but I think I'm in it for the long haul."

Tribal Council #3 - Galu Tribe

The nine members of the Galu tribe enter the tribal council area and take their seats. Jeff begins by asking Shambo how she feels to have lost twice in a row. She responds by saying that she's a marine and it's hard for her to feel the disappointment that goes along with losing twice in a row. Jeff makes a note about Monica falling during the challenge, which she immediately responds to "It was a TOUGH challenge. Like, I don't think it was me, or any ONE person that lost it for us." Shambo responds by repeating the fact that she DID fall. Monica repeats her assertion of strength, saying she was down for a very short amount of time that didn't impact the end result.

Jeff moves on to asking what life is like for the tribe around camp. Kelly answers by saying that for the most part, they're a big, happy family. Jeff asks what she means by "for the most part" and Kelly says that it seems like Brett has been trying to play two sides of the camp against each other. Brett acts shocked and denies the accusation. John asks him then to flat out tell everyone where he stands in the tribe. Brett says that he doesn't really have anyone who he has a close alliance with, and John pushes further, asking him who he's voting for. Brett finally admits that he's planning on voting for Monica because that's what the majority is doing. John expresses disappointment and anger over Brett lying to him for seemingly no reason.

Jeff then asks Russell S. about why it always seems like there's two people getting into it at tribal council for Galu. He responds by saying that it's tough losing challenges, and people are bound to get paranoid, but they just need to keep their heads and make the right moves to help Galu win. After finishing his questions, Jeff sends the players up to vote, starting with Shambo.

At the voting confessional Monica holds up a vote for Brett and gives her confessional "It's not like my vote is gonna make a difference anyway." Brett then casts his vote for Monica "I really wanted to work with you guys…but it's just not gonna work out. Sorry." Finally, Russell S. goes to vote and holds his vote up to the camera "None of us should be going home, but the tribe NEEDS to stay strong."

Jeff then reads the votes to the castaways, one at a time:

Brett seems legitimately shocked to see his name come up that many times.

BRETT.

Jeff reads the sixth vote, leaving three more for Brett in the urn as he becomes the third person voted out of Survivor: Samoa. Brett shakes hands with Russell, taking his ousting with grace, although he is denied a handshake with Erik when he goes for it. His torch is snuffed and he walks off into the night. Jeff comments that once again, while the tribe may fight, they remain united in their votes, and he hopes they made a choice that will help them out of their losing streak. He wishes them goodnight and the tribe heads off, back to camp.

Brett's Final Words:

Brett slaps his forehead and stares dumbly into the camera. He sighs and admits that he tried to play too hard too fast, and that he has no one to blame but himself. He says that if he could do it over again, he would've worked harder to find at least one person on the tribe he could connect with, and stay loyal to that person. Still, he admits that playing Survivor, even for six days, is one of the greatest experiences he's had in his life, and he would do it again any day of the week.

Episode 3 - Undisclosed Title

On Galu, Shambo goes on the warpath in search of her tribe's first win.

On Foa Foa, everyone is on edge as two rival alliances jockey for positioning.

And in a tough challenge, the castaways, who've gone without food for quite some time, suddenly lose their appetites in the face of some Samoan delicacies.

1: Divided They Stand, United We Fall: This is the episode's title, but I didn't want to disclose it since it would give away the immunity winner too easily. It refers strictly to the fact that Foa Foa is split right down the middle, but won immunity, while everyone on Galu loved each other, yet they still lost immunity. It has nothing to do with the tribe voting unanimously at all.

2: The Time for Action: Ashley's confessional is something that didn't make it into episode 1, how pretty much all the younger girlson the tribe loved Mike because he was the camp cook, and he was comforting and a good father-figure to them out there. I feel this is an important distinction, given Russell H.'s opinion on the girls.

Meanwhile, Russell is upset with the Mike boot for entirely different reasons, because Mike going home means that the men are outnumbered 5-4 on Foa Foa, so he's worried about the women's alliance with Marisa at the helm. Marisa really does seem to have 4 votes locked at this point, those of Ashley, Liz, Natalie, and herself, so Russell's not in a strong position because all it takes is one more vote to send him home.

Finally, we come to Natalie. Last episode, she got called out by Russell at tribal council for being in an alliance, and now that Russell seed it growing in her mind, because she's worried about just how safe it is to be in a minority alliance that has been pushed out in the open. Again, similar feelings as Russell, but instead of being worried about needing only one more vote, she's worried that the other five might gang up on her alliance.

3: A Calm Vibe: I feel like Galu is definitely the more laid-back of the two tribes, and it kinda showed during those early episodes of the season when they were busy doing yoga on the beach instead of working. Kelly kinda narrates this scene because she is what I see as the epitome of Galu. Just looking at the pre-show interviews, I figured she'd be just a laid-back hippy, and that attitude kinda suits what I saw in the rest of the tribe.

John made fire for the team, I think it suits him because it does make him a triple threat, in a way. But the real star of this scene is Yasmin's laugh, which in turn leads to Erik making a kinda stereotyping comment about Yasmin at the movies. Honestly, I like Yasmin as a character, I think she's got a lot of potential to be goofy and do kinda obnoxious things like that, and I like Erik even more, because he just strikes me as the kind of guy to make biting, sarcastic comments on a regular basis.

Overall, I really enjoyed this scene because it WASN'T about strategy. I feel like a lot of Survivor is about strategy nowadays, but having those brief glimpses into camplife and just how the castaways are dealing with being on Survivor: I like that.

4: Alliance Building 101: Russell finally makes a solid alliance, and it's kinda ironic because going into the season, I thought that he might be a villain, but he'd still be a hard worker and might wind up like Brian Heidik. As a result, I figured that he wouldn't be one of those people who Betsy considered untrustworthy. She'd be the Helen to his Brian. Guess I got that wrong. XD Ben though, I thought for sure he and Russell would hit it off as fellow Southerners who both seemed to have strong personalities, a lot like Jamie/Bobby Jon on the jury in Guatemala. The contrast now becomes between the hard-working alliance of Ben/Betsy/Russell and the strategic female alliance of Ashley/Liz/Marisa/Natalie.

5: The All-Seeing Eye: I realize that Brett didn't get a lot of screentime in episode 1 (if any), so this first scene was designed to kinda show him off a little bit. I figured that everyone else on the tribe could potentially be turned into an OTT character…except Brett. And as a result, I figured that Brett would be likely to just sit back and observe and notice a lot of these relationships being built around him. But at the same time, it shows some foreshadowing that Brett isn't really close to anyone, so when he gets brought up as a target later on, no one is really going to fight to protect him.

6: Love Is in the Air?: When I originally wrote this episode, I hadn't done my research properly and didn't realize that Mick and Natalie had a fiance and a boyfriend, respectively. (Thankfully Johnica has no real attachments). But then when I went to re-write things, I didn't want to lose the alliance between the two…so I thought to myself: wouldn't it be funny to have two people using the flirt strategy, even though both are in a relationship already? Like, I thought that'd be a great pairing, to have two people faking romantic feelings for one another out of strategy. And then Sam & Dan did just that towards Tiffany & Maria on the Amazing Race!

So while Mick & Natalie get developed, the other focus in this scene is on Marisa kinda working over Jaison. In retrospect, I think I probably should've used Ashley in order to really get across that flirty attitude, but I feel as though, since she's leading the alliance, Marisa would want to get her hands dirty handling everything herself. It sets up Jaison as a potential swing vote down the road with Marisa trying to work him to their side as well.

7: Reward/Immunity Challenge 2 - As the Wheel Turns: This challenge may sound a bit confusing, but really, it's just a basic one of those "chase the other tribe in a circle until you catch them" challenges. The only difference is that there's no way to drop out like in those challenges, as the beams that need pushing are extremely heavy, and the wheels are rolling through sand, making the task even harder. That being said, the only reason I added wheels to the end of the beams was because I was thinking of safety concerns for my fictional characters. XD I didn't want them getting squished between the two beams, and the wheels gave a little bit of space for touching.

Monica falls, and I'd like to point out that this episode was written BEFORE the completely disasterous episode four of the real show where she completely blew her tribe's big lead (although Brett kinda sucked too). So I totally called that. It sets her up as a boot target pretty welll, because her tribe has now lost two challenges and she's the weakest link. Shambo then gets a confessional about hating to lose, and I felt like that would suit her personality. She's a former marine, she fights hard in the challenges and still fails. That's gonna leave her pissed off at the end of a challenge.

8: Broken Love Tribe: Monica kinda scrambles because she knows her (cute, pinchable) ass is on the line, and of course John is that to give her a hug and make her feel better. But Shambo's not quite so polite. She gets pissed off because she hates losing, and takes it out on the rest of the tribe, saying that they need to step it up. While I do agree that Shambo wasn't to blame for either of their losses, I feel like she'd definitely start barking at the others this way and piss people off. One again, Erik gets a great confessional, saying Shambo is on her period and saying that if she doesn't want to keep losing, maybe they should just vote her out. God I love my version of Erik.

Finally, we get Shambo bitching a little bit more and complaining about how Foa Foa has no reason to be winning as much as they are. And when you look at it, it's kinda true. The Galu men outmatch the Foa Foa men every time. Swan is stronger than Hantz. Erik is stronger than Jaison. John is stronger than Mick. Only Ben MIGHT be considered stronger than Brett or Dave, but both of them were stronger than Mike too. It really comes down to the women. Betsy's weaker than Shambo, but not THAT much weaker. And then Marisa, Natalie, Ashley and Liz may not be very strong, but it's clear that they work well together. Meanwhile, Monica is weak, Yasmin/Laura messed up on the last challenge, and Kelly wasn't very helpful this time around either.

9: Leader in the Middle: I think that being leader definitely helped put Jaison into the position of swing vote, but at the same time, he definitely could've been in the same place otherwise, given the make-ups of the two opposing alliances, he doesn't really fit with them necessarily, so he might be the swing vote no matter what (although Mike might also still be around if Jaison isn't the leader.) Jaison clearly doesn't like the spot he's been put in though, and it's interesting to see the two tactics being used to get Jaison on their sides: Russell/Ben go out fishing with him and Ben catches a fish to show that they're hard-workers while Marisa flirts with him.

10: The Player or the Played?: At this point, there are two distinct boot targets on Galu: Monica for being weak, Shambo for rubbing people the wrong way. So rather than sit back, Brett decides he wants to make a move. This episode was written coming off the heels of Big Brother 11, where I thought Ronnie's strategy would work a lot better in Survivor, where your fate isn't just determined by whoever wins Head of Household. Granted, Brett wouldn't have seen BB11 at that point, but still, I thought it would be an interesting strategy for someone who doesn't necessarily have any strong alliances to get himself at least out of the hot seat for a few rounds.

Brett works with the alliance of Russell S./Yasmin/Kelly/Dave/Shambo to target Monica. That's fine. Where Brett makes his mistake is also promising to work with John/Erik/Monica. Those three do not have the majority even WITH his vote, which means they still need a fifth vote to guarantee Monica's safety. Now, Brett formed the alliance with them to make sure that there wasn't a unanimous vote, so he could slip in as the sixth member of the larger alliance, so in his mind, he was just trying to protect himself for a few more rounds.

Then John goes to Kelly (because Kelly is the youngest of her alliance and John viewed her as most likely to flip), and Brett's whole double agent plan is exposed. John actually manages to piece together EXACTLY what Brett is trying to do by making John/Erik look bad for voting against Shambo. So Brett is suddenly on the chopping block as a divisive force. No one tells him this, of course, so he's still confident, going into tribal council. And there's still animosity from Erik and Shambo towards their original targets, so Brett might just be set up as a decoy boot.

11: Tribal Council #3: Galu Tribe: I opened up the tribal council by once again showing the conflict between Monica and Shambo, with Shambo ragging on Monica's weakness and Monica trying to desperately downplay the fact that she messed up in the challenge (with good points, actually, since her physical strength being lost for a few seconds wouldn't have hurt the team TOO much, but the loss of others helping her up is what Shambo meant).

Then once again, Kelly is used to narrate the family mentality of the tribe (ignoring Shambo because Shambo is in her alliance), but then she drops the bombshell: Brett is a two-timer. Brett is caught off-guard, and John then repeats the accusation. I used John for this because it needed to be someone from that alliance, Monica is the boot target and doesn't seem like she'd be as upset, since she's getting votes anyway, and Erik still wants Shambo gone, so it'd be hard for him to get mad at someone else.

Anyway, Brett finally cracks and admits he's voting for Monica, which is an attempt to at least salvage his reputation with the majority alliance, since he thinks that if he's on their side, they at least might spare him a little longer. John is still angry, as is Erik, as shown later when he refuses to shake Brett's hand. Russell gets the last question and talks about how Galu needs to stay unified to get through this, and how fights at tribal council only come from stress.

Monica's voting confessional is to put in doubt that she might be going home. In reality, her vote doesn't matter because the tribe is all voting for Brett anyway. Russell's confessional adds more doubt by talking about strength, but he's referring to strength via unity. Brett is then unanimously booted, and he takes it with grace. Interesting that twice now, Galu has stayed united in their decision to target a single troublemaker, while Foa Foa's one tribal council resulted in someone going home who NO ONE was targetting.

11: On Brett as the Third Boot: As I mentioned earlier, when I saw the tribes and the cast list, I looked at Galu and thought to myself "Brett is the ONLY normal person on that team." Monica was also kinda normal, but she at least had potential with the whole hot nerd storyline. But the problem with Brett being normal on Galu is that he'd be boring. I mean, on Foa Foa, he'd fit right in. Bunch of normal, non-OTT personalities. But really, on Galu, if I kept Brett around, he would wind up with the same exact invisible edit he's gotten on the real show.

Now, I also didn't want to like, pigeonhole Brett into leaving early. Fortunately, he fit a demographic I always feel SHOULD be targetted early, but isn't. It seems like in every season, there's that one young guy who's not a physical powerhouse (although he's still strong) that manages to outplay everyone else, strategically. In Tocantins, it was Stephen, who I had as the first boot from Jalapao. In Gabon, it was Charlie, who I had as the third boot. Granted, if I'd actually written those seasons, then having the same character type booted early every time would suck, but since this is my first full fanfic, I figured it'd be okay to use the uber-strategist/semi-strong young guy as a reason to target Brett. I figured that of everyone, he would try to play too hard and wind up causing problems for himself early. I think giving him the INV/Good Edit streak of Candace in the real show is a compliment, rather than giving him jack shit and coming up with a story in the last few episodes.

12: Episode 3: I really like this episode because as is now apparently, neither tribe is truly united. Foa Foa has been fractured from day one, when the leader votes were split between Russell and Jaison. And Galu, although both votes have been unanimous thus far, is now clearly divided into two groups. So regardless of immunity, this should be a fun read for you guys.

13: I apologize to the Brett fans, but seriously, isn't it better to have Brett get a decent edit and go out earlythan to get a shit edit and go out at the end? (scratch that, since most of his fans come from just how shitty his edit has been).

14: I'm also a bit upset when I look at how short this episode is compared to most of the others. Makes me wish I'd added a few more scenes, but at the time, I really couldn't think of anything to add that wouldn't be superfluous.
