There once was a very wise man around these boards who always said - Follow The Money -
BetED Sportsbook has your ticket to the island action by providing entertainment betting odds which feature lines on who you think will win Survivor Samoa. Shannon Waters +375 Jaison Robinson +175 Brett Clouser +375 Russell Hantz +150 Mick Trimming +125 Natalie White -115 |

Interesting. I think a Natalie win seems more and more likely now.

If so, they should be ashamed of the edit they gave her this season. It's pretty obvious this show hates women winners, especially when they beat an alpha
male.
9 confessionals all season long is a disgrace. Like someone said already, regardless of who wins between Mick and Natalie, the editing this season is a joke. Bring on S20! |

Sole Survivor - missyae | ||
missyae wrote:You are a true Survivor missyae... :-) Removed and silenced but still finding the way to give info and deal with all the gossip and insults in the best possible manner. If it weren't for you, the Spoiler threads for both season 19 and 20 would not be the same. As for all the people who complain that producers did not give enough air-time for Natalie as the winner and/or Mick as a possible runner up, the answer is very simple. The producers are not obliged to the winner since the winner is not picked by them. The winner is being picked by a group of people who cannot be instructed or controlled in any way. Their decision making can be influenced by common sense, respect towards the game as well as their emotions or pure nonsense. The main obligation producers have is ratings. With the editting it is pretty much clear that the game's winner is Russell. Russell was the show this year. He was picked by the producers. Natalie was not picked by them. She was picked by a very bitter jury. The producers do not have to justify the decision made by the jury and it would be silly if they would. |

Confessionals this season:
Russell - 87 Natalie - 9 That's just inexcusable. Russell had more confessionals in episode 8 (13 confessionals) than Natalie has had all season long. |

At the end of the day, whether Mick or Natalie win, I do not think they are going to care that they only got ?# of confessionals compared to the million
dollars, lol.

JaimeCat22 wrote:Confessionals are simply narration. Russell's confessionals are likely much more outrageous and interesting than either Natalie or Mick's. Hence, they get used. Has nothing to do with Natalie and everything with Russell being an obnoxious a-hole that has gotten people talking about the show again. (Season high rating this past week, hell he has a 20-page thread in OFF TOPIC on this very forum.) |

Natalie winning is going to piss off every new viewer that this season has managed to pick up. I get that if she won the next best thing CBS could do is make
the season a trailer for next season, hoping to bring the new viewers along again, but don't be surprised to see ASS 3 do worse than Samoa.

JaimeCat22 wrote:Natalie had more than nine confessionals. The producers decided to air only the interesting ones. After a very extensive search of the records they gave up and decided to air these nine. Who do they need an excuse to? This show was not about Natalie. It was about Russell... and in the following episode about a baby faced assassin. At least you have to give them props for trying. |

Kirblar wrote: Agreed Kilbar. Confessionals are what they are and the producers are dammed if they do and dammed if they don't. It seems that if editing is skewed to show more of one survivor than another the people most up in arms are those who follow edgic logic because it totally trashes their logic. Others get mad because they want to be hand fed the winner. Too bad, so sad but the producers and editors are looking to provide entertainment. Russ has provided that in spades. Love him or hate him, his story is the most fun / interesting to watch. Remember that the everyone is playing for a million dollars and the smart ones will watch every move, word they utter. I forget who it was but some former survivor said they wouldn't give up much in confessionals if they were on the show again because JP will find a way to allude to those "confidential" conversations with the camera at the TC. So the best way to protect your thoughts / strategy is not to voice them in a confessional. Now if Nat (or MIck) wins, the producers also have to be able to show why Russ doesn't. The best way to show that is to air them.... Russ's arrogance will make it easily understandable why the jurors don't (if that in fact pans out) give him the million. As for hyping next season? Doom and gloomers are always predicting a demise or ratings drop for Survivor. Survivor 20 has plenty of players that people love to hate or want to see win.... Their ratings will be through the roof.... with or without Russ. |

I'm pretty sure it's possible to give Russell lots of screentime while still finding a way to make the winner of the season more than an afterthought.

Riliss wrote: Not really, regular viewers HATE Russell and would love to see him loose especially to what he called a "dumb blonde." I mean yeah people that have played the game and people here at Sucks may be a little pissed because they like people that are over the top and super crazy because its great tv. But casual viewers are going to want to see someone like Natalie or Jaison win. And I leave Sham out because she annoying, Brett and Mick I leave out because the casual viewer doesnt even remember their names. Everyone that I know that watches the show regularly as a casual viewer would love to see Russell loose. |

JaimeCat22 wrote: Unless they just want the winner to be a big blindside to the viewers... Oh we showed you Russell all season long, but BAM, the winner is Natalie or Mick! heh Seriously though, who cares about the edit. It's only and ever will be about what makes good tv, and apparently, Russell gave them the most material to use. Not about anyone being sexist, or hating soandso and blahblah BS. Hey... I'm a regular viewer and I love Russell :D |

Actually, casual viewers don't hate Russell at all anymore. They hated him when the season began but as it went on they started rooting for him because
he's the "only person playing game."
Just go to EW and read the comments left by the viewers on Jeffs blog and Daltons recap. They're all overwhelming pro-Russell. |

If Natalie/Mick indeed win over Russell, I wouldn't be surprised -- it would be very similar to Guatemala (underrated imo). Danni was pretty hidden and
UTR because the season was more about Steph losing rather than who actually won. While the show has quite clearly defined Russell's master manipulations, it's also casually tipped off moments that
show he has been a godawful social player, and misguidedly burned a lot of the people he expects to, in turn, vote for him to win a million dollars.
