It's the people who work jobs that take an hour to learn that are the backbone of our economy.

Whoa, you mean Cletus the ditchdigger isn't creating jobs??
In other news, it's looks like the fancy Opie special at the White House dropped his numbers another 3 points.

being that that report was updated at 9:30 am eastern time, and the special wasn't until that night, I doubt it had much to do with the approval rating
change
probably had more to do with the failed public option which polls showed most people wanted |

He doesn't appear to be bowing in that picture, just honoring local customs.

well, there is one of him bowing to the pope, another of him kissing (blech) that prince, and one of him bowing to the prince, but as he was bowing to recieve
a medal, I guess that didn't count
and you can't forget all the Bushisms - they were an endless source of amusement, especially: "Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Too many OB-GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country." -Poplar Bluff, Mo., Sept. 6, 2004 and "Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." -Washington, D.C., Aug. 5, 2004 I really do miss Bush for the laughs |

Isn't bowing a local custom in Japan?

There are different types of bows in Japanese culture.
A short, shallow bow while maintaining eye contact shows respect. A deep bow showing the back of your head is a show of submission. Like this one....

Obama *has* to bow to the Arabs, the Chinese and the Japanese - after all, they're the ones lending us all that money! Personally, I would rather we just print the money, but nobody seems to take my idea seriously. |

That's still less than the number of pork projects in the spending bill that the President will soon sign. |

interesting reading here: Link
seems like the biggest year (1991 to the present) for number of projects was 2005, which was also the year that had a record 27.3 Billion in dollars allocated to pork projects now, if y'all would stop electing senators/representatives who view every bill as an excuse to add pork things might help - I am looking at both parties here When and how did the situation get so that amending a bill meant adding extraneous stuff to it? It's totally stupid. |
