Man, I can't say enough about Zach Gilford and Matt Saracen. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! Has there been a better supporting character on TV this
year?!?

The only person I could think of was Aaron Paul's character for Season 2 of Breaking Bad - and I don't think I could call him better. Just equally as
amazing. Unfortunately only one was/will continue to be recognized by the award committees for his work and the other will not.
Matt Saracen has always been my favorite and ZG has always been one of the best, if not the best, actor in the younger part of the cast. I'm really pleased that the writers gave him something amazing to work with. I am seriously going to miss him. |

Aw, last night was sad all around. Bye, Matt. You'll be missed. I loved how the ending was Matt driving down open road, but I wish there was a little more
to the scene with Julie. It felt kind of rushed or just left hanging a little. The girl that plays Julie was really good last night....her breakdown was so sad
and I really felt bad for her. I even teared up a little.
Riggins was so sweet and sad last night, especially the scene at the bus station. Poor bastard. I hope we see more of Lila though. The scene with the landlord's kid talking to Lila was very touching. She was almost in awe of Lila, telling her how lucky and pretty she is. Poor little trailer trash from Dillon, looking up to the beautiful college girl. Anyway, bye Matt. Come back soon. |

Great show as always! I was surprised that casttv.com had it up so early. It's been Friday lately that it is up, but it's up now. Sorry to see Matt go.
Such a good actor. Love Tim! I hope he and Becky do not hook up.

Good episode, sad to see Matt go. I was sad for Julie but happy she finally realized that she was really the only reason Matt was staying and that she needed
to let him go.
The Sears scene was funny, although I do wish they would just show us what happened with JD to make him such an ass. But I was happy to see the Lions getting better even though it was a loss. I am starting to really like Vince's character even though he is sort of a cliche, you could tell he was just humoring his mom when she said she would be at the game, but when she showed up he ends up playing his best game, sad beceause he was probably thinking that it might be the only game is mom will ever come to. I just have one request. Please keep Tim Riggins in a football uniform. |

redkramer77 wrote:I agree. I think the JD angle is interesting and I hope they take the time to fill in the backstory about how JD and his dad got to the point where they are now after the attention that was spent last season on the abuse storyline. And where's the mom? I got teary-eyed when Julie broke down once she got inside her house. And Tammy showed again what a great mom she is. She moved thru the emotions she felt about Julie going to Austin with Matt so realistically and then when she was ready to let Julie have it, all her anger dissolved when she realized Julie was hurting. Very poignant scene. Such a sad episode over all, tho, but still great and moved the storyline along well. Tim, Tim, Tim. I can understand how Lyla feels, she has such chemistry with Tim but can't abide the life he's willing to settle for. I have a niece who just broke up with her long term boyfriend for the same reasons. I agree that Tim better not end up with Becky although Becky and Luke would be okay with me. |

So, is this the last we will see of Lyla and Matt and where did Lyla end up going to college? Loved seeing Heartless Bastards. Saw them at the Austin City
Limits Festival this past October. Great band.

thanks for the memyself! I mean no disrespect but the quality of that thing is really bad. Does anyone have any other links?
ETA: nevermind.. I love FNL so much that I made it work! Cried my eyes out again. Farelywell Lyla and Seven..... I will miss your faces. I wanted Matt to leave but I was unsure of the way they had him leave. I guess no words were needed? Destination unknown? My heart broke when Tim told her "Goodbye Lyla Garrety". Boy this show really knows how to pull at your heart strings. I was happy with the way Tammy & Coach handled the Julie situation. These are the best parents on TV. I wish they were my Mom and Dad. LOL!

Lyla is at Vanderbilt.
Also, I love that Buddy goes to the Lions games. |

Best drama in the history of television.
The sensitive side of me says the bloody hands dirt shoveling the funeral was the key moment. As the only non ghey dude on this site, Lyla on the mechanical bull was all kinds of hot. I need to replace my Jennifer Connelly gallop AVI with a Minka Kelly bull AVI. Someone get it for me - stat! Oh, and pageant girl is going to talk her way into Riggins heart (or burn the trailer down). Riggins is what, 18? And she's 15? Isn't that some kind of illegal? |

^^ And don't forget, Riggins banged her mother. That alone makes him hooking up with the kid all kinds of skeevy. I really hope it doesn't happen.

MrWhiteFolks wrote:How dare you. This promo shot was the only reason I watche ep 1.
Agreeance though: I would like to see Lyla on the bull. But the S1 clip of her buttoning up her jeans post-first Riggins boinkage remains Minka's finest work. Anyhow, I kinda thought the ep was exposition. Not so good, either. They build up Saracen's storyline last week so powerfully and then have him driving off into the sunset this week? For no real reason? Same as all of sudden he became an artist and all that and wanted to go to art school and all that? And then gets apprenticed to a drunken artist and all that? FNL deserved to treat this character better. The energy was all over the place. Leave it to Tami to create at least a shadow of coherence. |

I'm really not happy with the way they handled Matt's leaving. It doesn't make any sense that Matt would drop Julie off at her house, drive away
and never look back. I'm hoping that more will be coming so that Julie (and me) gets some closure.
I just can't get into the Becky character. She seems to be getting a bigger intro storyline than all of the other new characters but I wouldn't mind if she just went to Seattle to live with her dad. Although I'm willing to give her another chance if they do something great with the Luke/Becky storyline. Riggins and the dog riding in the truck was the highlight of the episode for me so I've finally come to the realization that, as much as I love almost eveything about this show, it could be just Tim Riggins on a 24/7 webcam and I'd watch. |

It was definitely a slow ep. I really like where they're taking Vince's character. Struggling to stay the course, but having to fight every day against
the reality of his life. And I loved how the football player came to help Luke with the fence. It would have been a little over the top had the whole team
showed up, b/c the team is just not there yet in terms of camaraderie, so I thought they handled it perfectly. It was a touching scene with Luke's father,
seeing him realize that Luke is a good kid who others respect.
I have said it before....I don't care for the Becky storyline at all. I don't dislike her, I just don't give a fuck about her. I suppose if they hook her up with Luke it would be ok. But there's only so far they can take the relationship with her and Riggins. Enough already with everyone in her life fucking her over and Riggins saving the day. I don't love the way Matt just took off either. It doesn't make any sense that he wouldn't call Julie, except maybe he's afraid to call her, afraid that hearing her voice will make him want to go home. That would be reasonable, I think. Anyway, wtf?? No new eps for 3 weeks?? ::cuts self |

Hi, memyselfand1. I downloaded firefox just to watch FNL, but I can't get that to work. Do you have to download it? Or is supposed to play on the black
screen? It's doing neither. A message comes up that I need additional plugins to download. I don't know what to do. I'm technologically impaired.
