Since Erik is our "jury narrator", a new story arc first for the season, I think this is a good sign that the jury is going to think very favorably of Mick.

P.S. Erik and Mick will be announcing their engagement any day now. As usual, John is the third wheel.

Actually, picking a winner between Natalie and Mick (and Russell) won't be as easy at it might first seem.

With a jury of nine, there cross currents could make this tricky. We can have a still have a 4-4-1 one tie and an unlikely 3-3-3 tie.

While there seem to be a lot of anti-Russell votes (at the moment), we might see for example the women may be more inclined to vote for Natalie and the men more inclined for Mick, however they reason their votes.

If Jaison blames Mick for getting booted before Natalie, he might vote for Natalie.

There is still a lot of game to play. Thank goodness the players are already talking about winning a jury vote and not waiting until the final TC to think about it.

I do agree that this pic doesn't reveal much.

It's not like the St. Patrick's Day Spoiling Massacre Photo that indicated that the main Koror five still thought of themselves as a fivesome alliance all the way till the end and beyond the game.

I agree, Erickman, it was great to see Russell wear that necklace around his neck. I don't think that would always work, but for that TC, it was a great thing to do.

Russell can still win this. Rich and Brian are good points about people who won even though people didn't want to hang out with them personally.

The Rob-M analogy may be a good one.

Somtimes the star wins and sometimes he/she loses.

The overall story arc of a season in S8 and S11 was more about why Rob and Stephanie LOST rather than why Danni or Amber won, which is a shame, because both Danni and Amber made some great moves on their behalf.

Russell is a great gamer, and in a final 2 against Shambo he would probably win.

The final 3 weakens the game, IMO and I wish they wouldn't do it. It may create more "likeable" winners like Earl and Yul who can get to the end game, and have fewer "best overall player of the season who falls at the final 3 IC", outcomes, however I think it weakens the game overall and dilutes strategy.

It makes it a tougher game to have to get to a final 2 in front of a jury and still win a jury vote. The final 3 makes it harder to boot the popularity threat with the jury.

But as it reduces the number of times the audience groans because their favorite or most respected player doesn't get into the final TC and then the final becomes a contest of the lesser of two evils.

The Matt/Jenna final 2 was very underwhelming for the audience if people remember back then.

Most people were appalled with Jenna winning at the time. Very few predicted it, certainly not a 6-1 landslide and certainly not Jenna getting a vote from Christy. It made it very hard to predict a winner. Jenna's redemption as a player came entirely in the final 4 when she fought to win. She also gave single best performance in front of a jury other than Chris in S9. I agree, Trix, it is now easier from the beginning to see how Jenna won. Speaking of juries, didn't Christy say something about peer pressure in jury lodge to vote for a particular person because these are the people you are going to be seeing at reunions? Maybe I'm dreaming. We know from the Ponderosa Ranch videos that the jurors talk about the game. How could they not talk about what they had been through. In the first season, pre-jurors were lobbying the jurors, and starting in S2 they were sent elsewhere. The jury in S8 had nothing to do for days but talk about how Rob M. had screwed them over. Any new juror went straight into that "core of hatred". It could be possible that early jurors set the tone. Neleh lost S4 I believe fairly early when the Rotu 4 were booted first (right or wrong). Keeping Sean and booting the General was a mistake as it could have won Jury lodge is not always a nice place as we are seeing as well. If someone is treated poorly but the other jurors, I wonder if that wouldn't cause them to want to rebel. It's great we get to see some of this footage now. Jury lodge was always a mystery before.
