Jane Lynch is a lock and I like Glee over Modern Family.
So Glee goes 3 for 4 and Matthew Morrison can be happy they let him and his man perm in the building.

I don't have a problem with Matthew Morrison getting a nom, but he has no chance at winning. I can(and was sure after the 4th episode) see Lea Michelle
winning, this has been Tina Fey and 30 Rocks worst year while Courtney Cox and Cougar Town might not even be a good show her nom is more an apology for passing
her over for Kudrow and Aniston for friends while Toni Collette and Eddie Falco could both win are those shows really comedies.

Golden Globes 2010: 'Glee' star Jane Lynch on her nomination by Annie Barrett Categories: Awards Shows, Glee Globe interviews, Television Among Glee's TV-pack-leading four Golden Globe nominations this morning were actor nods for stars Matthew Morrison, who plays William McKinley High School's glee club coach Will Schuester, Lea Michele, who plays glee club's obnoxious-yet-talented singer Rachel Berry, and Jane Lynch, who plays Will's nemesis, the bare-knuckle-competitive coach of the Cheerios (WMHS's championship-winning chearleading squad), Sue Sylvester. We got the three stars on the phone today to ask about their red-hot new show and find out what it was like to be nominated for Globes just halfway through its first season. Read the Q&A with Lynch below, then check out our interviews with Michele and Morrison. ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: How did you find out about your nomination? JANE LYNCH: I woke up to several messages - when I saw the volume of them, I knew it was probably good news. My agent called me three times and was like 'get up, get up!' and, you know, I was kind of playing too-cool-for-school and slept through it because I didn't want to get too excited about anything. But this is really a lovely dream. It was so fun to come to work this morning. The kids are beside themselves with excitement. It's great. We talked to Matthew Morrison, and he said he found out about his nomination from a voicemail you left him. I was hoping you might have left him that voicemail in character as Sue… Oh, I did, actually! I called him a little you-know-what - a little FU-know-what. Considering their rivalry, I'm sure Sue wouldn't want Will to win anything. That would probably be the truth for Sue. And maybe a little bit for me! Just a little bit. A slight dusting of that. Were you surprised that the Hollywood Foreign Press appreciated the character of Sue and her demeanor? Well, I wasn't surprised so much I think they kind of like those extremes out there, across the pond. I think there's a love for that kind of extreme character, you know? Seems like the Hollywood Foreign Press would be something Sue would lash out at in a segment of "Sue's Corner"? Yeah, right! "Who are these foreign people commenting on our work?"

It's about time Jane Lynch was noticed for her work. She never disappoints in anything she's ever done.

Lea and Jane without question deserve their noms. Jane was a lock and Lea should be seen as one... hopefully she will be from now on.
Morrison actually surprises me. Don't get me wrong. Dude is a good actor, has good timing, was GREAT with the Teri reveal, but his body of work, to me, does not beat out someone like Jim Parsons or Ty Burrell from Modern Family. The Golden Globes are weird though and they will def have you scratching your head. I LOVE Sandra Bullock, but no way, no how did I think she deserved a nom for The Proposal. Really hope L. Michele takes this one home... great EW interview with her - http://hollywoodinsider.ew.com/2009/12/15/golden-globes-2010-lea-michele-glee-nominee/

Carboys Desire wrote: Just because they're tasteless idiots doesn't mean they can't jump on bandwagons. Notice that all the nominees rank high in media mentions (Toni Collette's Emmy win is why she got nominated for a GG). GG's don't care about or understand quality. I mean, they barely speak English. That critics like Modern Family over Community and Parks & Rec shows how much everyone enjoys comfort food during tough economic times. Modern Family is the Kraft Dinner of sitcoms -- it's about as good as Wings or Just Shoot Me. But to get back to topic -- yay for Glee. |

JaimeCat22 wrote:Exactly. It's just mind boggling that I have to assume the poster is mistaking Modern Fam for another show. It's about as far from 'generic' sitcom as you can get. Add to that it's a very talk-heavy/dialogue oriented show so the argument that the judges 'barely speak English and they love it' is absurd. Well for many reasons. |

I think Morrison is very deserving of his nomination. He plays his role perfectly, and even though he may be outshined by some of the others, he's still
very competent and such an important part of the show.
