Dave was without a doubt my favorite minor character of this season. He always seemed calm and on point in his confessionals. His big mistake as was all of
Galu's is listening to kelly and voting out yasmin who was no threat to jump ship over shambo who was the biggest threat to jump ship. How any of the Galus
could have been so stupid is beyond me.

I like Dave in the show, after reading interviews and watching this interview, not so much. Jeff saying he has the highest IQ of any survivor ever has gone to
his head, he's trying to prove it, but apparently Jeff has lied to use once again. Then again, he does remind me of Mick Fleetwood.

Consequently didn't appreciate their so-called majority was much smaller or non-existent. |

I really counted Timbira as a 6-3 majority, although you could say they fell apart before Joe left.
Regardless, my point stands. I really think Timbira was much less threatened by Pao once their numbers reduced to three. I also really disagree with the notion that John didn't underestimate Foa Foa. He was so concerned about taking down Monica/Laura post-merge, he didn't consider the Foa Foa 4 a threat ... even calling it Junior Varsity Survivor to pick them off, instead wanting to vote out Monica and alienate Laura/Kelly. Galu made a bad call by voting for Russell, and then John underestimated the tightness of Foa Foa ... he assumed that they would break apart, that Jaison would flip over. That Sham wasn't loyal to Russell. John assuming that he had control of Jaison and Shambo was what caused him to eliminate Laura, who he wanted gone anyway. That screwed Galu once more and by then it was kind of too late for Galu. |

Dave Ball made the dumbest move the entire season by ignoring Monica's suggestion to vote for Natalie or Mick instead of Russell at the Kelly boot. She was absolutely right, Russell probably found the idol and he would never share it with anybody. Those aren't really huge leaps to make. Because he thought Monica was so worthless, he ended up costing his tribe any chance of making a come back. The Erik move took a big dent out of the Galus, but Kelly's boot was the final nail in their coffin, and it could have been easily avoided if it wasn't for Dave. In fact, I'd rank that in the top five stupidest moves made during Survivor, right after Colby taking Tina to the finals, Erik giving up individual immunity to Natalie, and Amanda voting off Denise instead of Todd in China. |

I disagree that "listening to Monica" would have made any difference, unless they were smart enough not to tell Shambo. She would have told Russell
who Galu was voting for, and he could have given the idol to that person. Kelly probably would have gone regardless.

True, though Russell thinks he's the smartest thing since sliced bread and I could see him doubting Shambo as much as he doubted Natalie. Not only that, he hoards idols. I doubt he'd ever give it up. |

Russell was smart enough to know that the idol was of little use to him if he didn't have numbers, and he could get the numbers if he used the idol
correctly that round. He also said that he trusts Shambo, so if she had told him that Galu would try to trip him up by voting for Natalie, I think he would
have been willing to take the risk of giving it to her. However egomaniacal his confessionals may be, he's proven that he's not a risk averse player.

He's also said he trusted Natalie. He thought Galu was lying to Natalie about Erik. He could have just as easily thought Galu was lying to Sham. He
doesn't respect either of their games nor their intelligence (not saying that's unwarranted). He could have just as easily thought that Galu was trying
to trick him into giving up the idol, which would suit his ego much more.
