Christine Baranski is a great comic actress - but in this role she basically recycled Lilith Sternin Crane.

Yeah, that's basically true, although Lilith was terribly repressed whereas Leonard's mom has socialization problems. And I did recognize that, much
like the "getting stoned inadvertently on pot laced pastries" from a few shows back, the "stiff lady letting loose after a few drinks"
trope is overdone. But Baranski cut through both of those issues for me. The scene eating dinner was explosively funny, and the scene in the car with Sheldon,
Leonard and his mom was also a riot. Definitely one of the funniest shows of the year.
