Now i personally believe that Russell lost, but are we going off solely his comments in S20? Cause he very well could be lying, not wanting the stigma of winner on him, or maybe he truly believes he lost. I havent seen any post game interviews, so idk what the jury has said, but is there anything concrete?

This +'d his confesh's but they still have the same damn edit otherwise. Also, if you know S20 spoilers, this should dovetail perfectly into his journey there re: women. Natalie HAS a semblance of a story to beat Russell, based on EDITING AND LOGIC (hi, edgic!). Mick. does. not. ~Fin

If Natalie were to win, she would at least have had as much air time as Mick in order to even the playing field. She's as interesting, if not more, than Mick since she's playing more of a social game (or so we're told). If Natalie wins, it makes the entire Survivor production staff look like Grade A-Aholes for ignoring female winners who haven't played the game before (just like they did with Danni).

Based on the INV/UTR edit everyone in Samoa got aside from Russell/Shambo/Ben/Yasmin got, Natalie wins, and it causes RUSSELL'S STORY to come into epic butthurt circle. You CANNOT say the same thing about Mick, so don't. even. try. As far as BOB? Gabon became all about Sugar's ASCENSION and IMPLOSION. Bob and Susie basically got the SAME EDIT except Bob got some HII action and then it was "OMG SUSIE YOU ALMOST WON!" but it was still about Sugar/Randy. Gabon was about Sugar. Samoa is about Russell 100 fold and it will be the same thing: "HOW DID YOU LOSE TO NATALIE OMG?! AND MICK GOT MOAR VOTES THAN YOU, 2~!" Nat wins.

The one rule about editing that trumps all others is that the editing ALWAYS matches the winner, and his/her play. If Russell were the winner, he'd be edited just the way he has been. In fact, I think of everyone remaining, the winning edit actually best matches Russell. Never in the history of the show has the show been edited just to show one person's colossal fail simply to boost ratings. CBS doesn't just think about current ratings. While ratings are important, they also think about creating a good, finished product/story that later can be sold on iTunes and through other outlets -- down the road when no one even remembers that Samoa proceeded S20. And I HIGHLY doubt that they're building a season all around a colossal fail. If they show someone failing, they also show enough of the failure's adversary so we know whom to root for. Endless examples: Jerri and Colby (we're supposed to root for Colby); Coach and JT; Ami and Chris; Fairplay and Sandra; Katie and Tom. And right now I don't know who it is we're supposed to be rooting for? Mick? In fact, if I had to decide the winner entirely on logic, and no spoilers, I'd say the likeliest winner is Russell, followed by Mick, then Natalie.

This season will be about Russell's EXTREME gameplay and being a true ~survivor~ "single-handedly" ensuring Galu's destruction, but the bitter Galus give it to his UTR sweetheart "dumbass girl" ally, Natalie. Mick winning doesn't tie into Russell's story (basically all of Samoa, aside from Shambo's obnoxiousness). If it did we'd be seeing a lot more of Russell/Mick rather than what we do see: Russell/Natalie and Mick/Jaison. And REGARDING Shambo, another obvious editing conclusion might be that Russell "got" Shambo's vote helping "him" beat Galu -- only to later burn Shambo and any good will. What made her jump from Galu might be why she ends up voting for that "Dumbass" Natalie, cementing her win. The wildcard that helped Russell ultimately burns him. Best post on this topic in weeks.

Its obvious production doesnt like female winners at all. Tina, Vecepia and Danni have all gotten horrible edits. 2 of the other 3 female winners were from returning player seasons. Jenna is really the only female winner from a non returning season that got any real edit. I dont see why people think that Mick has a better chance at winning this thing than Natalie, the only thing that anybody really is saying that makes Mick more likely to win is that he got a confessional in the first episode in the first five minutes, but that was a duh because he was deemed team leader so they had to give him a confessional. Natalie has overall had a much better edit, they are making this to where Russell is going to loose to one of the "dumb blonde girls." Micks edit has been slightly negative with him not being a very good leader and not knowing what to do, to being completely useless in challenges and now just being cannon fodder and not making any bold moves.

When Jeff Probst was asked what he thought was the key to Survivor's success, he said it was because of the way they told the story arcs of each season. The narrative reasons why Natalie is the most likely winner were already mentioned by novaya. This is a reality show that's trying to pass itself off as a scripted show, with all the plot devices in place. On the other hand, Mick did have that "million dollar quote" during the last episode. But the way he ties with Russell- the most dominating character this season- hasn't really come up much till last episode. I'm still not completely writing him off, though. As beautiful as he is, his gameplay reminds me of those putrid and vapid wannabes that I encounter in the late stages of every ORG I've played, so I personally would not like to see him win.

She got the best edit of any of the female winners, including Parvati and Amber.
