I found Meredith/Gretchen fun, but one's mileage may vary regarding her shrillness, I imagine.

Anyway, I suspect TPTB wanted to capitalize on the intense emotions regarding the Twin Hunt, hence the cast of assholes and also-rans. A pity that only one of them suffered a hilarious fall.

That team, of course, wasn't Debra and Steve. Nice people, way over their heads, saved Tian/Jaree from elimination. Thanks <3

Next, we get into Heartbreaking Elimination 1: Amander and Chris. A/C were, I think, the first true fans of the show. IIRC, their hook was that they were in a state of flux in their relationship, which is odd since they had a fairly healthy relationship, random cursing out each other aside. They were fun, they were witty, they were shafted by editing, and they were more shafted by a hungry camera operator.

Am I ever glad to discuss Rushole and Cindy. Back before that fat slob aggressively blew someone to get to the end in Samoa, there was this jackass. Their hook was that they were in a state of flux in their relationship *also*, which isn't odd since she was enamored with him and he couldn't stand her. And then he fucked up and got himself eliminated, and I could sleep soundly for a week.

But only a week, because next eliminated was Heartbreaking Elimination 2: Steve and Josh. Many people hate this team. While it is understandable on Sucks (against black women, precocious child), given that we celebrate certain other individuals for being even more pushy, rude, discourteous, and assholish, it's a bit much. Also shafted by editing, yet more shafted by a retarded leg design.

Up next, Heartbreaking Elimination 3: Steve and Dave. Steve and Dave are badass, robbed, funny, and would've usurped Chip/Kim and Flo/Zach as my favorite winners (not to mention I really don't want to say a negative thing about a former admin). That is all.

Monica and Sheree, however, will not get that courtesy. I get that they were probably prompted to say 'married to pro football players' 800 times a leg (which ones, I wonder). I get that apparently they were the "victims" of what was essentially insignificant grade-school trickery (contrast with a certain fiacre incident). That being said, they still suck, even for tokens. Not to mention, they retardedly took the FF in leg 1 when they were in absolutely no danger of elimination and had little chance of coming in first, meaning they didn't have it for Mumbai, leaving the producers with a ridiculously expensive FF that had gone unused, which may have led to the decline in FF. In conclusion, Monica and Sheree fucked TAR up for everyone.

Tian and Jaree were...well, they were something. For those who recall Heave and the Grannies, where one was fairly awesome and the other didn't do shit. T/J were an EXTREME version of that. The only difference is that Tian absolutely hated Jaree at first. This brought the since basically every leg was

Jaree: *gasp* i can't carry my bag
Tian: k hurry
Jaree: *gasp* i can't carry the air surrounding my back

But then, in India, something happened; Jaree decided to become an active team member, and Tian decided to stop treating her like shit. The two began getting along, scaring off pervy locals and, as fate would hate it, got eliminated the next leg after they were hosed by production. Am I willing to call this Heartbreaking Elimination 4? Yes.

Am I willing to call Millie and Chuck Heartbreaking Elimination 5? No. Sure I was on their side with the fiacres. Sure I was on their side when they were like "Withholding information is fine; it doesn't make me a horrible person." I wasn't on their side when they tried to piggyback off Reichip on the way to Malaysia (which was especially lols because IIRC, that flight wasn't even confirmed for R/C). And of course, I wasn't on their side against Kelly/Jon. That being said, they were an interesting team. Their hook (Virgins) and subhook (Dating 12 years) I think caused a lot of tension, since Millie really wanted Chuck to sack up, while Chuck wanted Millie to calm the fuck down, in an nice role reversal. And of course, their decision to eschew sleep starting in, I think, India, led to the awesome showdown in Borneo between they and Kelly and Jon. And for losing epically (if a little bit hosed by production), they get my thanks.

David and Jeff are known for two things. Being functionally retarded and yet strangely competent in racing, and only saying "Dude" and words that had to be censored. Oh, and deciding to Guido themselves, just like me on an ORG <3

Kelly and Jon. Wow. So at first, he was a perv, and she was a shrill bitch. They nicknamed everyone but sucked at it. And they hated Millie. But then a bunch of awesome teams got eliminated, and suddenly they turned on each other at times (and Millie, still), and were <3 (and, of course, Kelly was the token "girl groped on train"). And then the second Borneo leg happened, and their archrivals Millie and Chuck got eliminated in a confluence of random and slightly bullshit circumstances (which was fine, since they were my default Favorite Team). And then the very next leg they pwned everyone and won <3. And sure, they ultimately lost due to a loose interpretation of "solving a puzzle" and an even looser interpretation of "puzzle", but they gained a relationship, and infamy as those people on the Ped Egg commercial, and in the end, isn't small-scale fame the greatest prize of all?

That was by far the most bullshit winners edit ever. I assume that after Flo!, they wanted a positive winner as to not alienate the fanbase, which I can understand. Perhaps (and this is me being really cynical) they didn't want to negatively edit a gay team for fear of the backlash - there really weren't many (if any) notable gay reality winners prior to that except for Hatch. That I could understand (and am saddened by). However, the fact that I can easily recall at least four instances in which they were complete assholes (the fiacre drama, waiting for the lighthouse, making fun of Millie on the train to Alleppy, and bitching at the taxi driver in Seoul - this one is really the only one that is justifiable since they apparently paid extra for an English-speaking driver). Still, all this could (and would) ordinarily get them an M, however I feel that the outside factors caused them to be edited more positively then they actually are.
