It has come to my attention that some of the posters here have issues with authority.
As a mother, I do not want my kids to grow up like this and end up in jail or something. How did your issues with authority develop so that I don't make the same mistakes with my children? |

Its not so much an issue that you create in my case I am a minority and by default I get profiled, that is what has caused my issue with the police in
particular. For you, if you feel you are doing right, then keep at it. In my case I was raised to create my own opinion.

Dont let nuns beat your kids from first grade on ..thats what pretty much made me hate authority figures . Until I got bigger , by 5th grade myself and some
others pushed back and it felt good.

My opinion ? Most kids are hit out of anger and sends a message . Mind me or I will strike you.Now kids need rules and consequences. that is for sure but
taking away a fave toy for a week or making them apologize or write out a paper on what they did wrong and why it was wrong is much more benficial.Of course it
only takes one fucked up cop 10 seconds to screw all your hard work up.

Weems says his mom was a socialite, so she probably didn't have a lot of time for him. That may have created a lot of resentment in him. Luckily I'm
able to stay home and spend quite a bit of time with the kids.

I don't. I do, however, have issues with stupidity. If stupids are in authority, then I have an issue.
And yes, I get to define what constitutes stupidity. |

Most authority figures work for YOU.
Brilliant minds can easily outwit and manipulate those in charge. If you react overtly, if you show disrespect, if you let on in any way that you ARE smarter and better than they are -- they'll use their "powers" to intimidate and restrain you. Flood them with bullshit. Show absolutely no fear and be completely honest. Toss in a few well-chosen words to show deference. Generally speaking, they'll let you walk. You can laugh at them later. This applies to almost all authority figures. This does NOT apply if you attempt to employ these techniques WHILE they are inserting the needle into the IV and you are strapped to the table in the death chamber. I don't know or care how you teach this to children. Probably there's a psychological test you can administer at home that involves a hinged box and some colored blocks of different shapes. |
