His point was, if Mick wasn't our winner he likely would have gotten jury reactions and sound effects. This is the penultimate episode - we're supposed top think Mick is likeable, strong, and a jury threat. I mean, voting for Shambo tonight (although satisfying to see her finally die) was so DUMB for Russell. So very dumb. But it was Jaison's idea - and a good move for him and Mick. They are threatened both by a Russ\Nat\Sham F3 deal and a Brett IC streak. Jaison gets his way again, as with the Ben boot. But the edit doesn't glorify J or M which ain't great for their prospects. |

However, we could also view Jaison and Russell's tone as being anti-Edgic - no winner has ever received such contradictory tone as Jaison nor as much N tone as Russell. Yes, Natalie's tone is much more in line with a winner, but it's interesting to note that she is most P out of all players left (something that the winner generally is NOT) and if we want to expand our observations beyond tone her ratings and visibility do not line up with any other winner. |

Wow going into the finale has never been such a horrible mess in terms of editing (except for maybe Gabon).

Faith for Mick Supporters
Natalie seems pretty golden right now, in terms of jury ties. Jury ties have never been used in edgic to determine the winner; rather, like our masterful cl, they are used to determine who will be in the Finals. Natalie and Russell must be in the Finals at this point. That third slot can go to whoever you think wins, unless you think Natalie or Russell win. Something I found interesting in Nat and Russ' E4 scene: Russ gets a confessional saying he's going to tell the jury that Natalie has rode him like a horse all the way to the end. This is true. This could hurt Natalie in the end, if jurors say that all she did was ride coattails. Nat gets a confessional saying that Russ has rubbed people the wrong way, and she's going to build personal relationships and get more votes than him. This is true. But it may lose her some votes, since she has admitted that Russell basically has two votes in his pocket. However, She has all these jury ties. It will hurt Russell, and Natalie should get more votes than him (since her confessional came second to Russ') But what about the 3rd party? The finals is going to revolve around Russ VS Nat so much. That could be our distraction if Mick is in there. Mick's spiel to the jury, at this point, has to be that he's been observant and wary all the time: Episode 3: "Of course, she's here for a reason. She's here to find the immunity idol and to get information to take back to her tribe which she claims she isn't super-tight with. You have to assume someone's lying always." Episode 5: "We have to send somebody home tonight. Because the guys are pretty tight, possibly Liz, possibly Ashley or Natalie. I'll play it by ear." Episode 10: "I don't know how much Foa Foa can trust Monica, I mean, she seems legit but there's no telling if it's just Laura getting her to be a little snake in the grass and get information, which seems almost equally as likely." RECAP: "As soon as Jeff said that we needed to choose a leader, the first thing that went to my head was 'just let me stay under-the-radar'" "I really want to trust the southern family guy in him, but maybe that's his schtick." Russ: "If I thought Mick would say anything about what I do for a living, I wouldn't have told him. Mick: (right after) "Russell's a pretty savy guy, so it doesn't really surprise me...if it got down to he or I in the end some where, and if that was the only ammo I had against him, of course I'd use it." Episode 11: "Day 1, I was voted leader of Foa Foa but it developed that Russell is definitely the leader of us, strategically. He's a game player so I have to start thinking that he could take other people to the jury with him so that he has a better shot." which ties into his E1 confessional about Ben: "...The leadership thing is difficult and I'm still trying to sort out exactly how to run it. If he wants to step up and take control of things, you know what? Have at it my friend because he will paint his own target." Episode 12: "There's definitely part of me that wants to make a big move and definitely I thought about the possibility of getting rid of Russell. There are emotional and moral attachments to people but every night I sit there and I visualize in my head my name with a million dollars written in front of it." Episode 13: something about having to assume if Russell is lying If Mick is there, he'll have to tell the jury that he let Russell make all the moves and take the bullets for him. He kind of confirmed this with his TCQ answer saying he's played as aggressive as Russell, but isn't as off-the-wall. I hate predicting what the viewers are thinking, but I think the editors want to think "It's gotta be Russell or Natalie. Natalie is nice, Russell played the game". Mick winning would be a surprise, but it would be completely validated depending on what he says at the FTC. I think there's too much manipulation in his edit to ignore. He hasn't been shafted in long stretches, had a good start, and also something else: On 3 occasions (I can only remember two), Mick has been labelled 'mentally tough'. I'm not sure why, but Erik said it was TC, it was labelled in the recap, and another time recently (I just forget when). This has been accompanied by (during the loses of Foa Foa and the rainstorms) of Mick perservering. That's how I see it, if Mick wins. Or he could be Amanda with good manipulation, but only because she makes the finals.

No, I said Jaison should have been the consensus edgic pick. There's a difference.

If Nat wins, you do the same? Who cares if it's silly. What do you have to lose?, you can get rid of me for 2 to 3 months, and you get bragging rights? DEAL?? |

Can we discuss Natalie's confessional tonight where she said she loved Brett and he was a sweetie? Because it was THE SAME confessional that she gave in
episode 4 (same hair, same bikini, same location, same weather, same glistening tan body). Y'all remember the confessional she gave in episode 4?: "I
think I can beat Russell." So obviously she gave that confessional sometime AFTER the merge and she truly believes she can beat Russell. And she will.

The Purple Parrot wrote:I noticed that as well! I thought it was just similar sceneary but it was from the very same interview. The fact that they manipulated it so it looked like it was early on is good for Natalie beating Russell. But again, I think Natalie will beat Russell in the F3, but still lose to Mick. |

Hippochinfat wrote:Well, then who votes for Mick over Natalie? Natalie has Brett and Laura (and Shambo in my opinion) wrapped which leads me to believe that Kelly and Monica are probably also leaning towards Natalie. Mick would get votes over Russell AND Natalie?.... I'm not convinced. |
