They probably edited it out to avoid any sympathy for Russ. Villians don't love their family, OK! It also ran the risk of someone's family member
getting more airtime than their loved one (i.e. Becky's sister). Disaster!

Family visits usually create great moments in shitty seasons. Except the 15 seconds in Micronesia which helped contribute to the worst episode of all time made
me begin to hate them. Then, they let everyone see their loved ones in Gabon and Tocantins (including the absolutely ridiculous decision Taj had to make when
Matt and Cindy had to actually risk giving up their reward they won). Seeing as how those are the past three seasons, it is probably good they took a break.

I honestly don't miss it. It is cool to see family members but unless their eating gross things and bringing entertainment ala CC I don't really care.
