I want to admit that I had been spoiled AFTER Laura was voted out by some dickwad that posted the full boot list in an LTS thread about which players
applied/were recruited. Good thing I was already supporting Natalie by then and Blake had already been a douchebag to me and now I can say I told you so. ^_^

Natalie picks weren't because of spoilers.
This was a season were everyone had a shitty Edgic edit, and Natalie's story arc made A LOT more sense for a winner than everyone else. |

Yeah, edgic is pretty much a laughingstock by this point. Sorry if that offends your delicate sensibilities.

I vote gettingreal as Edgicer of the season. He always supported Natalie, never shoved his opinion down anyone's throat. Stuck to his guns, even when
people criticized him. And he was right!

I know you don't care about my opinion, but maybe after failing miserably in 3 straight seasons and 4 out of 5, you should finally face the fact that there
isn't a winner's edit. There never has been.

Look, putting aside all the spoiler business, the bottom line is this:
Edgic cannot successfully pick anyone besides a male CP winner. Period. You'd have better chance of picking a non-male CP winner by throwing darts at a board than by doing edgic. So unless you're counting on a long string of male CP winners anytime soon, you need to scrap the edgic guidelines and start from scratch. Preferably with separate guidelines for male and female winners, because as you can see MB sometimes does wacky things like not giving female winners any screentime or confessionals. |

Looks like my GreenCoffee account is no more (or at least it's not working today)
Edgic had a rough season. The main problem was that the editors used a style that has thus far not been used - 1 player dominated the airtime pretty much beginning to end. In the end, I think it makes sense. They could not edit Natalie as a strategic winner. They had no option to do that. What did they do? They went for their predictable next best thing - make the winner likeable while simultaneously crafting a story that explains how they managed to win. The BIGGEST problem, then, is that this season had 2 people who fit this criteria (intuitively spoken or not).If Russel had won, I cannot imagine them crafting him any other way - he was TV gold. Natalie won and they edited her in a way that complimented her game, as well. |

Gonna come right out and say what needs to be said.
Anyone even hinting in the last couple of weeks that Natalie had a shot of winning was NOT, and I repeat NOT using Edgic to make that claim. They were using spoilers, rumors, and whatnot. |

Can we start the "Natalie was not INV in episode 2 debate" again? Cuz all of the Natalie supporters were getting ignored by the condescending,
pompous, loud mouth "veteran" edgic people that early in the season. ^_^

I'm not here to rub Natalie's win in anyone's face (I've been doing enough of that in the other forums ^_^) but I just want to say, I hope in
the future people will be more open-minded in looking at storyline vs. visibility and other people's opinions.
That's all <3 |

I'd like to formally congratulate everyone who picked Natalie! As a viewer/fan of the show, after Erik's speech, I was nothing but thrilled to see her
win. Absolutely beautiful and I'm very happy to see her win. The Edgic part of me is obviously sour, which I'll get to, but I'm totally satisfied
that Natalie won outside of Edgic.
Now, onto the Edgic of it. I want to remind everyone that my winner pick, my passion for my pick, and my (at times) overbearing nature in fighting for my pick, was for the sake of this thread. I love Edgic: its purpose, its contributors, its accuracy at times, and its complexity/difficulty. No formula is sound, and Edgic failed us this season miserably. I fully expect many drive-by "Blake sucks!" or "Ha ha Blake!", but those are big words coming from people who are spoiled, big words from people who didn't contribute this season, and big words from people who have been wrong before. I got JT right, and if memory serves me correctly, I was very respectful about it. I suppose I cannot expect the same from some immature posters who get off on seeing results they approve of. Enjoy your high for now :) I'm most certainly not low, considering I am very satisfied with such a wonderful winner (as a person)--edit aside. The fact remains that this thread is about Edgic. We look at the editing, discuss past trends, and make our choices. Natalie's first 3 episodes, and mid-merge edit, are on-par with no-names like Susie and Becky. I'm disappointed in her win for the fact that it defies so many of our guidelines. I have to wonder, was Russell's visibility presence the reason? The answer is Yes. I picked Mick, even though his edit started to lack, because Russell was taking up so much time. The problem is, however, that I didn't look at Natalie because the neglect was so much worse. I'm puzzled. Even watching this reunion now, it's so... what? Something doesn't feel right. Natalie's winner highlight reel was her in challenges and a confessional (obviously from the first day) that was never shown. Why did the editors do this? I think they've masked her because she was so connected to such an evil force. The only way to validate her win, without people thinking "WTF", was to make her likeable. They did that, but I still am unsure of why she was neglected so horribly. The future of Edgic: I'm really unsure, at this point. This kind of thing puts everyone in contention for an edit like Natalie. Is it possible to eliminate people anymore? We'd have to focus more on the story, now, which makes me question the purpose of Edgic. I hate to say it, but when you have someone like Russell.. maybe Edgic doesn't apply. RedWing brought it up all season, Russell isn't just high visibility... it's ridiculously high. Mick and Natalie, combined, must have had 5 confessionals total in the finale. Brett had maybe 3? Russell... must have had, at least, 15. The hope for Edgic? I don't think a season like this will happen again. The editors and producers probably know, after this response, not to do something like this again. I doubt they anticipated the Russell support to have momentum. However, if it does, we'll know right off the bat. To those who may say I was ignorant or arrogant, look pages back in my return post: Is Mick China Amanda or the Winner? I picked the latter, but I didn't ignore the former--the chance was there. Edgic is fun. I was wrong. I didn't have fun this season, but not because I was wrong. Edgic transformed into something ugly, this season, and as much as people would like to attribute that mood to my posts, I think many at the same time can agree that it was those who badgered me that ruined the fun that Edgic once held. Next season? I'll see what we decide. As of now, I'll be keeping ratings and having my own chart going, maybe I'll pop in to post it... possibly read some posts that I trust, but I will be very wary. I do not think Edgic should retire just yet.
