He wanted Liz gone instead of Ashley but the tribe voted against him. Kelly was Shambo's idea. Shambo's boot was actually started by Jaison.;

Natalie made a game winning move in recognizing that Russel was her F2 ticket. Russel thought Natalie was his F2 ticket as well, but he was proven wrong. Engineering all those moves doesn't matter, Natalie was aware that each of those moves benefitted her in the game. If there was some move Russel made that didn't help her, then maybe she could've stopped it. I'm not one of those idiots who thinks that the winner always played the best game -- Bob, for starters -- but Natalie was completely aware that what she was doing would win her the game. Just could she was less self-congratulatory doesn't mean she deserves it any less.

Natalie could have gone first just as easily as Marisa if Russell had decided it. In my opinion, Laura was a more pivotal move than Erik. Taking out Erik was a great move, but so were Russell's moves....plural.

She mentioned it to the Galunatics, but Natalie is one vote who MIGHT be considered to control the Foa Foa four. The Galu fans are as delusional as that tribe, the Eric vote was definitely NOT due to Natalie, their committing harikari is still on their own heads period. Natalie won because her social game was perceived as better than Russell's. This crap trying to credit her for some great strategic move in getting Galu to kill themselves is beyond comprehension.

It was pretty obvious that it was a consensus from all of Foa Foa. Dave was the strongest threat left, and Monica obviously was the default bootee. I'm pretty sure Mick, Natalie, and Jaison would have voted for them, regardless of Russell telling them or not. #8 is hardly game changing either. You could switch John's boot with Dave/Monica. It really didn't matter. And for #7, they were all trying to get Laura voted off anyways. I will give Russell props for switching John.

The thing you leave out of your argument is that it was Russell who made it possible for Natalie to have a social game. Without Russell, the Foas would have been Pagonged. I give her some credit for floating the idea of voting Erik out, but remember, if it wasn't Erik going home that night it would most likely have been Monica. A Galu was going home that night one way or the other. Now, would Monica leaving instead of Erik have caused Galu to crumble like it did? No idea. But even if Erik stayed and Monica left, the next vote Russell would have played his second HII and someone on Galu would have been gone. Depending on who won immunity, it would have most likely been Erik or Monica. Russell's biggest mistake was thinking that the jury would respect gameplay first and foremost. People want to bitch about how Russell only got where he did because of the HII's. Well, guess what? They're a part of the game. That's like bitching you lost a game of basketball because the other team shot more three-pointers than your team did, and how three-pointers aren't a part of the original game of basketball. Well, guess what? Three pointers count. And so does having and using the HII. The best player doesn't always win Survivor. We've known that for ages now. But this is the first time I can think of that the best player made it to the final TC and lost.

He fucked up his alliance with Marisa, his alliance with Betsy, and his relationship to Liz, forcing him to get rid of each of them. His sabotage was also a major reason why his tribe kept losing pre-merge (which, sadly enough, ultimately helped him). Overall, his pre-merge play sucked. He played the HII. OMG SO STRATEGIC, IT'S AMAZING. Shambo chose the correct target, he wanted Laura. He didn't engineer Laura's boot, either. Once it was a 5-5 tie b/c of Shambo John was making the flip. Russ had NOTHING to do with it. Engineering John's boot was a mistake for just about everyone since at that point he was the 2nd best goat in the game (2nd only to Shambo). Dave and Monica were on their way out anyway. Booting Jaison over Natalie was a horrible move, and winning a key IC does not count as strategic play. So, what was so amazing about this guy again? He made a shitton of mistakes that ultimately cost him the game, even if they helped get him to the end.
