I wonder whether Natalie's win changes anything about this discussion.

Lesson: A jury will reward the Amber game, if she is likeable and its clear that the mastermind wouldn't allow a women to thrive any other way.
Russell keeping say "may the best man win". I'm surprised Monica didn't call him out the way Deena did with Matt. |

Amber game? Amber never made a move like Natalie's to get rid of Erik. If not for Natalie and Jaison, Russell would have wound up looking like Erik
himself.

There should be a lot more enthusiasm for the first female win in a regular non-returning players season since Pearl Islands. If you count Outcasts, she's
the first since Morasca. Unfortunately it seems even when a woman wins, she'll still get the standard shitty vag edit unless she also happens to be like a
bumblefuck redneck lesbian or a one-legged Jewish sea captain.

Amber played a great game in all stars. It's very hard to survive a TC when you're switched over and are outnumbered 4-1. And if you're going to BS
it saying Rob saved her, think again: Lex and Kathy have both confirmed that this is how it went:
- Lex was undecided, leaning towards booting Amber. - Lex let Kathy make the decision. - Amber convinced Kathy to keep her. Not only that, but fostering the alliances/bonds within Chapera helped keep them together. If you watched All Stars before Australia, there's no doubt she'd be considered a great winner. I've watched All Stars with several people who haven't seen Australia, and they thought both Rob and Amber were very deserving. |

Hate to sound like a spoil sport, but Natalie winning does not settle any uneasiness about female failure on Survivor. Her win was mysterious at best and
certainly is NOT an anecdote to why women don't win on Survivor.

We were explicitly shown that Nat likely had 4 jury votes in the bag because she was building social relationships. She got 3 more on top of that.
There's nothing mysterious about the win- Russ treated people like shit and paid the price.

We were explicitly shown that Nat likely had 4 jury votes in the bag because she was building social relationships. That's the biggest load of bullshit. 4 juror votes??? Seriously??? She had Brett. There wasn't anything that signified she had built good relationships with anyone. All we knew is that Kelly didn't trust Russell. That's possibly two. Even in the jury, before Erik spoke there was absolutely NOTHING indicating that Natalie had a shot in hell of winning. |

Even premerge, Natalie was FF's secret weapon, kept over Liz because she had bonded with Laura. We never saw Mick bond with any Foa.. Jedijake, funny you are dissatisfied with both Parvati and Natalie, when they played opposite games. Women must either get rid of all the worthy males, or be the nice girl who hides behind a jerk. Lesson for male leaders - bettet to share power with strong women who make some enemies, than take an uber-bunny to F3 just because she is passve and strokes your ego. Same way Erik should have built bridges with Laura and Monica, who ruffled plenty of feathers, rather than splitting the tribe by gender.

Yeah. I knew Natalie had the game won the second Erik gave his speech, because that was 5 votes locked.

Jedijake, funny you are dissatisfied with both Parvati and Natalie, when they played opposite games. You misinterpreted me, but that's my fault since I gave that impression. I apologize. I do feel like, out of Parvati and Amanda, that Parvati deserved to win. However, Amanda would have been fine as a winner as well. I think that Natalie was likely deserving in her own right, but we never saw her "path". We see most male pathways to victory (except for maybe Bob, but we did see it toward the end. So, while I am satisfied that a female won, I am dissatisfied by the bad editing. However, I completely know why they neglected her. But that being said, your last statement I quoted is completely true. But that seems to be true about males also. |

The difference between Natalie and the other "UTR females/coattail riders" is that Natalie owned the strategy at the final tribal council. She wasn't say like Cassandra or Neleh and said "I just want to be friends with each other." She just flat out said, yeah I road coattails, and yeah I flew under the radar, but that was my intent in the first place and in that situation. Her final speech reminds me a bit of Vecepia, where she said a similar thing. So advice to female contestants. You can play "passively", but you need to own it at the final tribal council. That's the difference between Natalie and Cassandra/Neleh/Susie etc. |

She really didn't do much owning. She gave a half-hearted "I tried to be nice to people" speech, but that was about it. It was actually a pretty
terrible jury performance (and Mick's was even worse). Fortunately for her, jury performances really didn't matter this season.
So advice to female contestants. You can play "passively", but you need to own it at the final tribal council. That's the difference between Natalie and Cassandra/Neleh/Susie etc. You can play passively as long as there's someone sitting next to you who the jury doesn't like or doesn't respect. If you're sitting next to Tom Westman, you can own whatever you want, you're still not winning.
