Thanks for the kind words, but almost everyone out there was great. Oddly enough I had a great time. At one point we were stuck, not moving, for hours. WVDOT came walking up the road and got us all moved over to the side to make room for a snow plow. I was against the guard rail and was pretty bummed when I watched a line of cars from way behind following the plow. I thought I would never get out. Then a guy in a truck noticed what was happening (he was behind the snow plow and moving.) He stopped, blocked traffic, and let those of us who had been waiting longer out.

I watched vans full of young guys jumping out of their warm vehicles to help move cars that were stuck way way ahead. It was a cooperative effort and felt kind of like Christmas.

APG, no way! I bought a bunch of throw away fleece blankets a few weeks ago so that I'd have a stock in the car for situations like this and to cover people after accidents. Just having a soft blankie can make being stuck or laying on the ground waiting for an ambulance so much easier. I would never give away that blanket but would feel like a total shit if I denied someone a blanket when I had one. So I make sure I have spare blankets with me.

I'll pick up some more from RiteAid in the morning. I just made it home today.
