The Worst Part ... getting "Russelled" |
Lead | |
|
Thanks to this Jury, we will never have an "all out" player like Russell, again. Every future player will just sit back and wait because they know
that the jury will be bitter and vindictive. No one will want to get "Russelled" by a jury, again. These selfish two year olds ruined a great
season and a great show. Now we get to watch a bunch of "under the radar and not in the game" Natalies and Micks sitting around waiting for someone
to do something for them. This jury should be punished by having to watch future season of boring Survivor.

Or maybe, people will learn to tone their attitude down and play a good social game.
You can still play aggressively, like Tom and Todd, and come out on top. And you can play like Stephenie and Boston Rob and lose. |

Please. You could just as easily say that Russell was "Nelehed" or "Boston Robbed" or "Lillianed" or "Stephenied". This
is not the first Jury that has rewarded the better social player over the more aggressive strategic player. Each season and each Jury is different. If
you're so socially inept that you can't guess the values and personalities of the Jury members (and thus, how they will vote) and change your game plan
accordingly, then you deserve to lose to a person like Vecepia, Amber, Sandra, Danni, or Natalie

Everyone "evil" (as in playing the game) has been fucked over since Gabon. Strategy is basically dead on Survivor. Outfloat, Outsmile, Outsuck.

No one will ever play UTR because they don't want to be Katied or Beckyed

Amanda never did. (Even if she hadn't fucked up royally at the final TC, she was dead, because the jury didn't like/know her.) |

What this season will teach people is not to play the game like idiot Russhole. You can still play an aggressive strategic game and still come out on top
without being an arrogant asshole.
Ask Todd, Tom, Richard, and Brian! |

Thing is, Russell started thinking about the jury way early. Or at least we saw him thinking/talking about the jury earlier than anyone I can remember. And
still, STILL, his hubris clouded the reality which is 8 Galus and 1 Foa Foa on the jury that he had a hand in knocking out. He knew he'd get Shambo's
vote, no doubt. But that leaves HALF of the remainder he'd need to vote for him. Brett and Jaison went late so their emotions would still be high. I guess
he counted on them to get past that. They didn't. Hubris kills. And so, apparently, does an impassioned booty call (Erik's speech to Nat).

SO what?

Tom did play a very physical, strategic, and social game. He had a perfect balance.

I prefer to see a player win it as opposed to having a bitter jury not vote for someone who beat them so badly. I don't think this is a game for mice. |

J.T. and Parvati both played very well rounded strategic, physical, and social games, and they won. So I don't think Survivor winners are getting more
undeserving. On another season with another Jury, Natalie could have easily pulled a Becky or Cassandra and gotten zero votes. It always depends on the people
in the Jury and how they are going to vote. It just so happens this season that the UTR girl won, but that's happened before with Vecepia and Danni.

GrenadeJumper85 wrote:Tom's dominate physical performance led to the perfect balance. He was never in a position like Russell. Tom's head was never on the block. Russell's head was tied to the stump and he escaped. Tom's challenge performance was so stellar, he never had worry about upsetting anyone on the social side. He was amazing! But, he never had to make any moves. So, he never had to risk anything on the social side. That probably makes him the best player of all time. I just don't think it was strategic game. It was a powerhouse game. He had it won before it started. He kicked your butt from the word "go." So, in my opinion, he never had to worry about strategy or the social side. He already had it all won. Russell, on the other hand, didn't have that kind of game. He had to make moves. He had to risk relationships. Natalie was smart enough to tuck in behind him. I just hope we don't see alot of that. |

People seem to think that "social game" is just you know, "brushing each other's hair and gabbing about American Idol".
Getting people to trust you and make the moves you want them to make is also a social game. |
