It's possible that I did - my thoughts on what a "strategic" game means vary. I don't think there's such a sharp distinction between strategic and social gameplay - although Russell's game certainly makes the case that there is.

Thanks! The finale is a lot more fun when you don't have to get up for press in the morning.

Had you bitched and whined about being the true strategist after you got mopped up, people might still talk about ya. Russ will be a household Survivor name and Z-list celeb from now till the show gets canceled. That's what all Survivors want, right?

And to Nat, All I can advise you is get a great Accountant. There is alot of things you can do to keep your taxes down. Pay your Quarterlies, don't do a Hatch." And SteveieD, Russell's clothing looked like Off The Rack WalMart Hip-Hop Shop, along with his PorkPie Hat and bellybuttom hugg'in shirt.

I agree that Russell's game play could make the case that there may be a distinction between strategy and social game play; however, I also think Russell had a good point when he said he was playing a good social game because there were a bunch of people who trusted him and believed what he promised. It seemed always only to be in retrospect that the other players being voted out said, "Oh, yeah, I knew I couldn't trust Russell..." It's a tough call, but what I really think at this point is that his arrogance (along with a predominantly religious jury who let morality guide their vote) was ultimately Russell's downfall. The jury punished him by not voting him the winner, but doing so did not have what I suspect to be the intended effect - to humble him by not giving him the title this season. They've created a monster.

It was a combination of real emotion and committed character acting. Russell plays "Russell" brilliantly.
