Finally a canadian version of Big Brother! A french-canadian version but the cool part is they will use BBUS rules! (first time ever?)

maaaaaaaan, I didn't even know there were other countries that ran bb.
but that's cool.. does grodner/endemol run them all? |

Grodner only does BBUS as far as I know. But Endemol is either a special consultant or just producing (for the rights to use Big Brother's name)

Surprise, only those living in Quebec can apply. Leave our country already if you hate the rest of Canada so much :-)

Also, for the sake of confusion, this should NOT be considered BB Canada. It's BB Quebec (e.g. BB California, BB New York)... if it were a Canda-thing,
everyone in Canada could apply, and it would be in Toronto or Vancouver probably.
Looks like it'll be a French-speaking program. Please don't associate this likely crap with the rest of our country :) |

jealous?
;-) (BTW, I agree with you that it's gonna be a crapfest!)

Quebec has thought that it is it's own country for 30 years.
Since I dont' understand French, I won't watch - maybe they'll put subtitles for the rest of the country? |

hopefully this is not total crap, but finally another country adopts our BB rules. The international version seems to be dying out, where the audience votes
out and stuff

BB11Casey wrote: No shit? You owe it to yourself to check out some of the others, particularly BBUK. There are at least 30 foreign versions and lots of seasons. You can see a list here: Big Brother Series Around the World (@Wikipedia) BBUS is sorta the low budget side show of the BB world. BB seriously goes off in some countries. US rules are also quite different from most of the rest. Here you can check out some of the difference: Big Brother Evictions from Around the World - 2008 (Be sure to at least check out the BBUK eviction from 1:45 to 3:00 in this vid). OMG!! SHOULD I APPLY???
I thought for sure this was a Loft Story thread, so I avoided it like genital herpes. They'll probably end up Loft Storylizing it anyways. In other words, it won't be about gameplay/strategy at all but about gossip and hooking up.
To be fair, Quebec has been extremely pro-active with reality TV, whereas all Canada did so far is Canadian Idol (which got canned) and So You Think You Can Dance Canada. Not exactly a great track record.

Wyldawg, I think they want to stay far away from Loft Story. They said they won't be casting only for looks (18 to 88 years!) and they seem to really want
gameplay and strategy. We'll see!
There is a Facebook page with much more information: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=363909440433&ref=mf |

They said they won't be casting only for looks Then I have a shot! I just hope they won't already have BBUS twists like bringing Exes or enemies into the house. Or seperating us by cliques. |

BB France called "Secret Story" could possibly be my favorite foreign version of the show, I suggest those who parle du français or even if you
don't understand it at all its still very entertaining. It has BBUS strategic elements combined with viewer voting from other series. Each eviction show is
like a massive production!

Well I filled in the entire application form, except for the last page where I had to include two pictures of myself but it wasn't working, so I can only
assume my application is automatically rejected. Nice waste of a perfectly good half hour.

This bit worries me though:
Big Brother est à la recherche de candidats de dix-huit ans et plus de tous les horizons. Ils peuvent être seuls, en couple, en duo infernal ou membres de la même famille, etc. It means, "BB is looking for housemates with 18+ years old, from all walks of life. They can be alone, in couple, hellish duo(?!?) ou members of the same family." I don't like that. Urghhhh!! Stupid twist don't work!!!! |

Yeah, that sent a huge red flag to me too.
I'm surprised they didn't flat out ask me: "Has anyone in your life really pissed you off?...........How can we reach that person?" But then again, it's stupid because people would totally see it coming if there are indeed pairs or something. |

I trust V a lot more than CBS with the casting department, they'll find a few grade A entertaining fucktards
