Thank you for your contribution to this thread, round peg! I nominate you to open the confessional thread for all future seasons, since
ILT only does his job when he likes the season/his favourites are doing well.

Um no. Natalie had AT LEAST 5 last night. For a total of at least 17.

Wow, just wow!
We had the person with the most confessionals ever. We also had the winner with the least confessionals ever-almost the least ever by a finalist. That's just incredibly biased and lousy editing! |

lol Yes, please, imediately get rid of your life.
What's so bad about it is that season was so over-the-top that it hardly even mattered. Sometimes there are some emerging edits that the confessional count will quickly call attention to. This season, Bad Russell had more than the whole rest of F5 combined. If someone were adding up time on camera outside of confessionals, it probably would have been about the same. Oh well... Thanks everyone for counting! |

Confessionals = Narration.
If you give emotionless robotic interviews like Brett, they're not going to use them. Nothing more, nothing less. |

Some confessionals stats for the season.

That Male/Female discrepancy has been going on for years.
Basically, if a male gets booted pre-merge or medievac'd, he usually gets tons of confessionals and gets touted as a "character". If a female gets booted pre-merge, its because she sucks and is boring and averages 0.05 confessionals per episode prior to her boot episode. |

I don't think we are ever going to see a change in the way a female is edited because of the attitudes of Mark, Jeff, and the rest of production. Sadly, it
is what it is and they don't regard females very highly unless they are psycho or obnoxious. Boring Earl got TONS of confessionals (over 50?) while Danni
and Natalie were just plain neglected.
But here is something interesting to consider. As great as Russell was on camera, people scratch their heads as to why he lost. Here's a possible reason. If Russell got over 100 confessionals aired on TV, he probably got a TON more they never showed. We can't be so stupid in thinking that everyone on the show is treated equally and given as many confessional interviews as everyone else. Russell, TV gold, was clearly taken off to the side much much more than anyone else. So, if you combine the amount of time Russell spent giving interviews with the amount of time he admittedly spent looking for the idol (supposedly), how much time was left for him to actually bond and get to know the other tribemates? He's not a very caring, compassionate guy anyway so the little time he did spend with the others was probably spent talking about how great he is or making deals and not getting to know anyone. The sad thing is, Natalie supposedly did spend time getting to know people and they didn't harp on that in the final TC. They also didn't address that at the reunion. I'm almost positive it was brought up, but never aired. Once again, that was because of the attitudes toward women that the production has. |

Monica had 16 confessionals. She had 2 in episode 10. It was a voiceover, just like the one Natalie had. Shambo and Russell also had VO confessionals that
episode.
