The clumping litter is very expensive though. I've also read that some vets think that clumping litters are bad for cats.
I couldn't afford the recycled newspaper litters nor the pine pellet litters, but I found out that Equine Fresh is the exact same product as Feline Pine. $6 for 40 lbs of Equine Pine vs $12 for 20 lbs of Feline Fresh. The products are both biodegradable and can even be composted. I'm not sure I'd eat veggies composted with cat shit, but that would be fine for flowers. I could probably even just dump the stuff over the fence and help keep bunnies, squirrels, foxes, snakes, and raccoons away.
Have any of you used Feline Pine and/or Equine Fresh for your cats, rabbits, or ferrets? If so, did your pet like it? Did it keep odor down?
